I have something to get off my chest. I noticed that a lot of these internet guys can be really hypocritical of HHH. About a year ago, these people talk about his influence and control in the back. Then, when he was injured, everyone rethought the whole conspiracy thing. I even read that most of these folks were moaning for him to come back during the whole Alliance debacle. Now that he's back, these same folks are slamming him again, this time because he's slower than he was before, and bigger too. Let me chime in on this by saying one thing: I'm a wrestling fan. I watch wrestling on TV for half my life. I know nothing outside of what I see on TV. So, no matter how attractive it looks on the 'Net, I don't assume something I don't see. And that includes HHH's "influence". Oh, and as far as being bigger and slower in the ring is concerned, eight months without wrestling is a HELL of a long time. Ring rust after a serious injury is an eventuality. Remember the people who said Austin was washed up and couldn't go anymore a year ago? WHAT? You remember that? They're saying that now about a 32 year old man. He's not even OLD! Working off almost a year of doing nothing is difficult as hell, but all the netheads think about is the "conspiracy". Well, I don't mind the ring rust, because I know that by this time next year, those losers will kiss his ass again. Okay, you can flame me now.

HHH has always been a scapegoat by people who want to explain why their favorite wrestler isn't getting a push. It's convenient to forget that he didn't start dating Vince's daughter until probably over a year after he first won the WWF title. Hell, she wasn't even a part of his storylines for months.

He hasn't wrestled much in the ring, but what he has done, he's done well. He's got some new moves too. That choke takedown is lightning fast and looks rather brutal. His AA spinebuster is nice too (what the hell IS it with WWF main eventers using spinebusters anyway).

HHH is one of my favorite wrestlers, so I may be kind of biased. Still, just do what I do when you read all the negative crap about him on the internet - laugh. Because in the ring, he is that damn good.

I think the Spine Buster is the flavor of the year. Last year everyone was using the Backdrop, a few years back it was the DDT (and still is sometimes.) this year I guess it's the spinebuster.

Anyone want to guess the future in wrestling fashion? I say it's going to be the German Suplex!

As for HHH... I truthfully have never liked him. I don't know what it is. Sucked as the bluelood. He was ok in DX (the highest HHH has ever gotten in my rankings.) but after that nothing. I am glad that he's using new moves on normal TV now, which was probably my biggest complaint about him. "UGH, I can do razor's edges, bridging chinlocks, and DVD's...but only on PPV! Anywhere else...all your getting is my bevy of knee related moves!"

Just in general I believe guys pull out more moves at the PPV because the matches are 5 times longer..(in the uppercard)
Sure, Angle and Benoit pull out suplexes and whatever in their normal matches but that's because its in their basic movesets *gasp*..
At PPVs they up the ante too..

And yeah, Trip uses alot of knee moves..so does Lance Storm.
In fact didn't STorm say that the easiest and best way to hurt someone is drive your knee into a part of the body..don't remember where I read it, but it's true..oh yes, it's true

And finally, HHH being bigger can mean he is slower in the ring..if you bulk up your speed goes down usually. That's why TheRock said after he returned that he dropped some pounds (muscle).
Oh well, IMO he is still Da New Man

True or not, if Renzo Storm's intention of doing knee moves is to hurt people, then he forgets this is RASSLIN!

I dunno. Just wanted to say "Renzo Storm".

I thought the point of pro wrestling matches is to make one's moves look as real as possible, and to make them appear to hurt the opponent when in reality, they don't.

Some are better than others of course, but there's nothing wrong with using something that, if actually landed, would hurt like hell.

Yeah, I know that technically all those knee moves would be devestating...but sometimes they just look so lame. Maybe if he did them in a grapple or something. The only one I ever really liked is when he does the plain ole knee drop out of the corner (with the subsequent crotch chop taunt.) Shades of DX HHH.

Actually Raptor, Stephanie entered HHH's storylines less than a month after he lost his first world title, after that he would quickly win the title 3 more times. As to when he really started dating Stephanie, I really don't think anyone can say. However, if you were, I'd say around early 2000.

Eh, I wouldn't agree that the spinebuster is the “flavor of the year”, really. What The Rock does isn't a spinebuster, it's a sidewalk slam, and I can't remember a single announcer ever calling it right.

Ol' Double A, Arn Anderson, though-- those were spinebusters. I wish I could have seen him during his wrestling career, but I started watching when he was on his long hiatus from the ring before retiring.

Anyway, about Triple H. I'm sure that Triple H worked tremendously hard to get in shape and get back in the ring. I'm just not sure he deserves to win the Royal Rumble in his first pay-per-view back, though, not when there are others that are equally deserving of a push (if not more so). Gone since May, and he's already guaranteed a spot in the WrestleMania main event? I wouldn't have gone that direction myself, although I'm sure the WWF will make tons of money off of it. And that's all that's really important, right? I'll still probably end up buying WrestleMania.

Another thought about Triple H, and this concerns his feud with Chris Jericho. Remember when HHH said, “You have never beaten me?” Damn, I would have marked the hell out if Y2J had played the footage of him beating Triple H for the World Title (in a decision that was later overturned). That would rule all sorts of ass.

I kind of agree with Brian that with so few Knockouts now, any match has a feel of "been there done that".
