"Batista had been cast in the lead role months ago and had planned to scale back on his in-ring involvement during the film's production. Batista had also begun telling friends and colleagues that he wants to retire after the movie's release and after one more 'good run' on WWE programming."

Hey man, being pulled from a WWE film can't be all bad, can it? And if that's your ultimate goal, well, maybe TNA *should* be in your future.
The way that Batista has been used over the last several years with regard to his injuries and general awkwardness with anything involving a wrestling ring, I can't think it would be in his best interest to consider moving on from the company that made him a star despite his impediments. The only one he would really screw would be himself, as I'm sure the E would somehow, some way deal with his absence. | Promote this thread! | | CRZ

Batista's contract is running out, and that's the stated cause for switching him out of the upcoming movie for HHH. The WWE theory is the movies are for guys who will be around to benefit from them, and they're not sure about Batista. This, in addition to the neck issues, is why HHH wasn't on the European tour.
Batista's surely not happy about it, but I would gamble WWE gave him an ultimatum to sign whatever new contract they're offering him to stick with the movie, and he just said no.

He was a kick ass heel til Mania then he has turned into another vanilla cookie cutter chickenshit coward. I don't see TNA has his destination if he doesn't re-sign more like moving on towards movies then if that fails he comes back. He is 40 plus if I remember correctly, so the clock is probably ticking down on him. | CajunMan
