Excuse me if this is hidden in some other wrestling thread.
I caught about a twenty minute interview this morning that Steve Czaban had with HHH. It was pretty entertaining as Czaban's sidekick (Al Galdi?) is quite up on his knowledge of the "business."
HHH talked a little about bringing Batista along for the last two years and teaching him the ropes.
He talked about how Chris Benoit sops up every damn speck of oil from his chicken breast and how he doesn't worry so much about every little thing that he eats. Pretty funny stuff.
He talked about his wife and in-laws a little bit, too. Nothing deep there.
The last question Czaban asked him was about the best "worst wrestling gimmick" he had ever seen. He mentioned the Gobbledy-Gooker, but he really razzed The Goon. I am sure that wouldn't have gone over well here!
Anyway, if anyone else heard this, what did you think? I thought HHH did a good job coming off like a regular guy for the most part.
Aside from him as the wrestler...he's a funny guy. At the house show I went to in Abilene he was hilarious. I think he'd be a lot better used as a comedy type guy than the serious badass that he is...I would have liked to hear the interview..
Yes, that was former/current Wrestleline writer Al Galdi. He's a producer/anchor at Sportstalk 980 in DC and is the update guy on Czaban's FSR morning show.
The funniest part, like I told Al, is that Czabe was dropping the smart talk but HHH was kayfabing him back. Czabe was saying "face' and "heel," but HHH would say "good guy" and "bad guy."
Of course, HHH also said it wasnt necessarily important to have a muscled-up physique. It is to laugh.
Trips has always been a nice guy, I've never heard of any natsy stories involving him backstage. I rememebr talking to someone who said they met him and the fan said that he was very nice to give him an autograph and he replied ''Let me get you in the ring and then see how nice I am''.
