Shame, as he was really starting to win me back as a pissed off face. The DX Schtick was getting old, but the last few promos had him going back to the old "I am gonna beat your ass" style.

The first thing I thought when I read this is that Hot Newz got his wish from his End of Year Awards several days ago: "and I hope Edge and Orton "accidently" tear his quad again because it's been a long time coming!"

Damn, his injury could kill our attendance at our upcoming house show in N.O.

No Cena, No HHH, how do you sell a RAW house show?

I never like to see a guy get hurt, but at least this may force them to be more creative with WrestleMania. Instead of the usual "just stick HHH in the main event".

I really donīt wish anybody anything bad, but storylinewise this is GREAT news! At least to me! Remember 2001? They pushed Jericho to the title! And RVD was pushed like crazy as well! Triple H would have never allowed that to happen....

Left quadricep, judging by the picture, one would think... is that the same one that Triple H tore back in 2001? I wonder if he did something to re-aggravate that injury. I hope not.

I read the story at IP, and they seemed to believe it was the other one.

If I recall correctly, he's had problems with BOTH before.

Don't really see how this can be considered a good thing. 2001 was a shitty year.

Yeah. But if you're gonna go out with an injury like Triple H did in 2001, it was good that he at least went out with an injury at the conclusion of a damned incredible match, the Benoit/Jericho vs. Austin/Triple H match for the tag-team titles.

It was only a matter of time. Bodybuilder physiques are not designed for athletic activity. Even though Trips hasn't been as big recently, he's still too big to be bumping around. Batista is the same way; the guy tears a bicep brushing his teeth. It's not bad luck, it's that his type of training doesn't lend itself to the athletic demands of wrestling. You've got to start listening to your body at some point. Also, since H is pushin' forty, maybe it's time for him to consider a new finish, as Taker did at around that age? One that doesn't involve coming down on those knees two-hundred and fifty nights a year?

Pardon me?

Benoit vs. Jericho RR
Angle vs. Benoit feud
Angle vs. Shane KOTR
Benoit & Jericho vs. Triple H & Austin RAW
TLC3 at SD
Austin vs. Benoit SD
RVD vs. Jeff Hardy feud
RVD and Jericho in PPV Main Events!!
Jericho vs. The Rock feud!
Angle vs. Austin!
Team WWF vs. Team Alliance SSs
Ric Flair comeback!

Just to name a few highlights! Doesnīt sound too shitty to me!

What had 2006 to offer instead? (Except Cena/Edge and the ladder match at Armageddon) D-X, Spirit Squad, tons of male asses and/or strippers, the new "ECW"?

2001 was tainted by the Invasion, not that Triple H's presence would have single-handedly saved THAT.

Although I think I am vastly underrating the year now that I remember that the first half was actually really good before the WCW thing kicked in.

Anyway, even if this does take Triple H off of TV for a while, I don't think it'll have as dramatic an effect on storylines this time, as I wouldn't think they'd be planning on having him be in the world title picture for the fifth Wrestlemania in a row.

edit: 2001 had a "new" ECW too. :P

Well, I hate to admit it but it put a smile on my face when I read this thread. I hope HHH is out for at least 8 to 10 months. I can't stand him or DX and the thought of neither of them on my tv for a while makes me happy. The only downfall of this is the continued mega push of Cena.

Do you think this will lead to the short term return of Jericho? I would think if he would ever come back it would be while HHH is down and out.

I realize people don't like HHH, which explains why some people are expressing joy at the suffering of another human being.

But let's get real here. This injury is a very serious one. The injury he sustained in 2001 was serious enough that most people do not return from it. Given his age and his background with this injury, it's quite possible he will not wrestle again - at least not for a very long time.

If this turns out to be the case, that means we could have HHH in more of a speaking role. And we've been there before with the McMahon-Helmsley era. So really, people. Have a bit more of a heart, huh? I'd hate to be stuck in his place. At least he's got good doctors taking care of him now.

Being Paul Lavesque - that would suck. I would hate to be married to a billionaire's pretty daughter, have a healthy little girl, a starring role in a TV schedule, a heatlhy salary, good doctors....maybe we should take up a collection.

Well, okay, maybe don't start a "Get Well Soon Triple H!" letter writing campaign, but not being able to do the thing you've dedicated your life to and perhaps not being able to do it at the level that people expect of you anymore sounds pretty bad to me.
Oh well, no official word yet about his condition, this could all be overblown by our own memories of five years ago and he'll be out of the ring for a month but still be involved in angles.

Anyway, I've posted enough in this thread!

Hey Chill mate, I think your're being a bit melodramatic....I don't think any of the posts on here suggest people are happy to see HHH 'suffering'- they're just suggesting the possibilties that his free spot could create....

Maybe it'll force Michaels to recruit a new DX member? Maybe Ric Flair? lol

It sucks to see anyone get injured. Whether they're loved or hated, it's never a good thing.

I'll go on record and say that I loved the new DX...and I do hope that Triple H makes a heathly recovery. I'm guessing this may spell the end of DX, because of Micahels' reported unhappiness with their skits, but perhaps a new member could breath new life into it?

If DX is truly finished (which I supposed we'll find out soon enough), I guess that would lead to one good thing: the end of the stupid "Dumb to the Xtreme" Voodoo Kin Mafia angle on TNA.

It's like this. I don't need him to suffer. I just want him off my TV. Preferably out of WWE for good, but I'll take what I can get. If he won the lottery and decided to retire to a tropical island someplace, that's perfectly fine with me, but if he has to tear a quad so that I'm rid of him, so be it.

On last weeks SD and RAW, did anyone spot some more subtle tributes to the fallen? Things the audience might not catch, I mean. I wondered if Storm's "Woooo!" was not such a tribute to Stu through his son.
