His name is "Rock," perhaps you've heard of him. And before you bringup WM X-8, keep in mind: Canada is the Bizarro World of crowd reaction.
I could take or leave the Rock and Austin but they get the most crowd pop, and that INCLUDES Hogan's.

Canada is the crowd reaction bizarro world...why? You, Keith, and a couple other people have said that since X-8, whereas in my previous 15 years of wrestling fandom, I've never seen any evidence where that is the case. Just because three Canadian crowds overwhelmingly supported Hogan (and booed Rock, which eliminates Rock from universal pop contention) doesn't mean they have twisted cheering patterns.
I want proof.

Agreed. No offence, but if you think that Austin and Rocky are getting the same pops as Hogan is, then you're out of your mind. Accept it: 99.9% of the marks love him. It's probably due to the fact that his act hasn't been seen in a while, whereas Rock and Austin have both been wandering around for years in the WWF now. Whatever it is, Hogan is the number one face in the company. For the time being.

Point me to a recap where CRZ notes the crow didn't go coo-coo for cocoa puffs over Hogan. By all accounts, the crowds are ga ga for him. "Qualified" bonkers. That's a good one. That's why they're booing Rocky even during his significant spots. That "Canada is Bizarro World" excuse is really transparent and lame. You're in denial.
What I really love is, what makes everyone thinks anyone is going to get "tired" of Hogan? Id be willing to bet that they could put the belt on Hogan at Backlash and keep it on him till SummerSlam and the casual fans would love it. The IWC would have a collective meltdown but the crowds would go nuts everytime they saw him. Face it, Hogan could ride this wave till NEXT Wrestlemania. His pops aint getting smaller no matter how much you crowd psychologists like to say otherwise, Hogan has proven why hes been on top for almost 20 years. Its because he can manipulate the crowd unlike any other.
You know youre old when you try to convince some kid that was born in the freakin 80's that Samus Aran could whip Lara Croft's cave dwelling ass. Honestly, has there ever been a cooler weapon in the history of video games than the Screw Attack?
Ok..my opinion on a few of the things stated above.
Enojado Viento said that Vince stacks the odds by having HHH come to SD if he loses.. The guy that loses the belt takes the place of the guy that wins it on that team. Makes perfect sense to me.. No stacking anybody or anything here..
Enough with the blame canada shit.. Tthe crowd went wild for Hogan, wrestlings biggest name EVER, not because they were canadians and decided to hate the rock... Fuck..didnt the crowds before WM do the exact same thing? only difference is that there were about 50,000 more people and that now he actually wrestled what was biled as the biggest match ever.
The i beat you down on the shower prior to the ppv so you win rule doesnt always apply. In fact, can somebody bother to actually see how much it applies? If anything, they are setting us up for a 'my gawd, hogan is pissed and HHH doesnt stand a chance' swerve where HHH does stand a chance simply because he is the better athlete.
oldschoolhero, the wwf has changed the appearing folks on their UK tours before..however I agree with you on this one..also because of a little something else from the Ross Report (dunno if anybody else mentions this in another thread but heh) Ross says Rock's only scheduled match at this moment is teaming up with Hogan against Jericho & Angle on May 4th. I believe this is the day of the UK PPV. No way the champ would be at a house show while HHH - who would be on the SD roster and has no beef with Raw guys- is in england.

I'll research it, but I need to know exactly what the rule is. Is it that the person who wins the match before the ppv will lose at the ppv, or does it have something to do with who is the last person standing at the end of the show, which is not necessarily the winner? If it's the second, then I'm going to have to look through CRZ's recaps. EDIT: Also, if there was no involvement during the Smackdown before, should I go back to the last involvement they had? Example: Jazz & Trish Stratus had no involvement on the last Raw before Backlash. Should I go to the Raw before that, and give the advantage to Jazz because she made Trish lose?
I admit my wrong in this one, Papercuts.. Didn't see the PPV yet but my eyes went pretty damn big when i saw the images on wwf.com *gasp*
Awesome if you wanna research it Boffo! And yes, I'd think the final show they were on for the ppv counts best. So for Jazz and Trish that is Raw, for Hunter and Hogan Smackdown.. Ofcourse until before the split that was most of the time on smackdown anyways..
Good luck! And keep us updated!
