I hope they bring back the Scott Hall surveys!

Also, I think the make the NWO really work well, McMahon has to resist the urge to make it into a "See, the WWF was better the whole time" and have the NWO get beaten up left and right by WWF stars. There has to be a long, sustained dominance of the NWO over WWF stars in order to really make them an evil threat to be dealt with. And they probably need to take the undisputed title somewhere along the line. I know all you die-hard WWFers gasp at the notion but I think it really has to happen to make it work.

Yer damn right they'd better bring back the surveys!

I have a feeling we're going to see:
- a lot of run-ins
- a lot of announcer table invasions "RAW is nWo", etc...
- a lot of cruiserweights getting tossed like lawn darts
- a lot of "You know"'s to start interviews

all so they can band together the top 3 or 4 WWF stars (over a long period of time) to fight the nWo.

All the smarks may not like where it's going . . . but they'll watch, just to see where they go with this.

I understand what you mean, but there is just one problem with that: the nWo is OLD!

Realistically, should a man in his fifties (Hogan)or forties (Hall and Nash) be able to consistently kick the ass of a group of men in their twenties and early thirties (Rock, Jericho, Austin)? I like having the nWo back as role players, but not as champs. Nobody wants to see Bossman or Taker win the title and Hogan is even older than both of them!

But if that group of men are divided, 3 40+ year olds in decent shape (which from what I hear, all 3 are) could beat the snot out of a 30something person.. or a 20 something. Again.. and Again.. and Again. And with the amount of pride the WWF works into angles and all, you know that the top dogs won't be getting together in the begining, if they ever do.. by which point the nWo are a legit threat in people's minds.

Yeah, Taker's finally hit his stride again. It took him almost two years of being back, but give him one last reign before he leaves for good.

As to the surveys, I'd like to see the NWO actually play heels for once, instead of playing to the crowd. If they modify it to dis the fans though, it might work.

Are Hall, Nash and Hogan really a threat to the WWF? Not really. But if HHH's current face run isn't going to last, he could really solidify the group. HHH provides the main-event firepower, the other three provide the run-ins and six man tag fodder.

Will the nWo run rampant over the WWF for a while, or will it be a repeat of the Invasion butt-kicking? Here's what I hope happened. Vince wanted to try the cheap route to see if the WCW name alone would pop the buyrates. After the Booker-Buff fiasco he realized it couldn't be done, and then half-assed it through the Invasion. He then spent some money, and now will do an invasion right.

I guess this makes me an optimist.

Hogan was pretty old the first time around...

But I agree, I don't want them wearing belts anytime soon, except for maybe tag belts for Hall and Nash... it's not like there is a huge tag division right now anyways so why not put the tag belts on the Outsiders and have them refuse to defend them/weasel their way out of defending them and screw every makeshift team that comes along until the WWF gets some real teams back in the division?

Part of what got the NWO its initial heel heat is that they got the belts and wouldnt defend them...

Back to the point... I don't think that their age is going to matter, it will be their actions... if the WWF books them as cowardly heels like Jericho than they are gonna look like wussy old men; if they get pushed as sledge hammer wielding mofos ala heel HHH then they will look like actual threats...

Granted, Hogan is old. Really old. But do you think that they'd do one last title run with him? It wouldn't surprise me.

You know, I think you have to have Hogan on top at first because he's such a big name. I mean as long as it's short term it could be fun. It's kinda like when I was a kid and they said Warrior was coming back (93 ish) and I got all stoked up and was looking forwards to it like nobody's business, then he came back and I remembered that he sucked in every way possible, so I gave up on him. It's the same with Hogan. Hogan back in the WWF for a little nostalgia isn't a bad thing, because for the casual fan it's a big deal. It's a bad thing after months of it purely because I don't think it'd be realistic. We can only wait and see if they get the balance right.

I'll cast my vote for 'Taker with the title once more too. Which almost surprises me. No matter how much of a 'Taker mark I am, I knew he wasn't up to the task when he came back. It took him a long, long time (possibly because of his age and sheer wear and tear) to get back to where he is now--which IMO is near the top of his form. If he has one more decent title reign (and comes out with his old gimmick JUST ONCE) I'll be a happy wrestling fan. Hell, if Hogan gets to put a nice period at the end of his career (keeping the fingers crossed on that one), 'Taker deserves it by a few orders of magnitude more...

Quick Answers:

YES, to Undertaker winning the title one more time, then losing to Benoit or Jericho or somebody in a retirement match. Heck, even have the nWo retire him...

YES, to WWF guys jumping ship to the nWo, but try to use it to get WCW guys back into the shows... And don't forget that Kidman hates Hogan! Don't forget! Don't ignore continuity...NEVER!

YES, to having HOGAN be the father of Stephanie's baby...just to see Trips beat him down...
>"Whatcha gonna do...when the Game runs wild on you?"
Ah, the hilarity...

YES, to six months of nWo domination, culminating at Survivor Series or SummerSlam when the WWF fights back!

I really think that Hogan is going to be the third man in the new "Seniors" division (along with Flair and McMahon) and will be more of a manager than a wrestler.

Hogan can simply not work the kind of RAW or SmackDown! main event that fans have been conditioned to expect lately, much less a PPV match. Hall could. Nash might be able to fake his way through a tag-team match. But not Hogan. Not even close. The man can't even take a suplex anymore.

That's not to say they won't manage to finagle the belt on to him somehow one last time (probably during his farewell face run). But for the most part, I'm thinking lots of interviews, lots of run-ins, lots of 6-man tag team matches, and maybe a gimmicky PPV match or two against Flair or Vince.

As to the nWo as a threat: If the threesome can stay on the same page, they can wreak havoc and beat any ONE WWF star. I mean, a 3-on-1 is kinda overwhelming.

As to the nWo and titles: Eh, I can see this go either way. I mean, if putting the nWo in title scenes will build their credibility, so be it. Or maybe they'll eschew the WWF's titles altogether, thinking it beneath them (been there, done that attitude).

As to the Undertaker: Yeah, bring back the FIRST kind of Undertaker, with the long socks, big tie, and trenchcoat. THAT was so cool! (ah, the memories)

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly this angle will be--are they supposed to be a threat by kicking butt, or are they supposed to be a threat to ratings? It seems like this is being sold as a threat to the well-being of the company and to the quality of the product. So what are they going to do, go out there and suck? If they go out there and beat up people, win titles, and the like, I don't see how that really matches up with the way the angle is being sold to us.

Okay, what I think they're going to do after reading the new nWo webpage is have the nWo cheat their way to some titles, and then basically refuse to defend them, and (on air anyway) refuse to have matches with the top stars. Taka, Sho and Crash should be getting plenty of title shots.

Oh, and as for the Taker, he needs to finish with one big face run on top, and somehow needs to make a surprise out of it. Maybe whoever current heel champ is (Trips, at this point?) makes an open challenge for the title. Arena goes dark. Waiting.. waiting... (no bike, so the crowd doesn't know who) BONG! The bell tolls, out comes UT to most of his original music (maybe some new stuff mixed in) and the crowd would just go wild.
