Well, I just had to come back to check up on things, and well things are just as they were when I went off to do some exploring. Well, I have to say that anyone who thought that Monday's RAW was the worst must've ignored the first half of the year. I'm sorry, but compared to Lucy or Austin pissing on Arn, this was fun, especially Fozzy. I just couldn't stop laughing when I heard Jericho sing. I sung some of the lyrics on closed caption, and well, I was in the lead, let's say. The main event was exactly what I expected for a pre-PPV show, and that's fine with me. All this buildup for Summerslam was a million times better than Wrestlemania, no doubt. Yet people still piss on Angle-Rey and HHH-Shawn. Fine, be that way. I didn't sign up here to use my limited knowlegde of the sport outside watching on TV to show off. I am truly fired up, and NOTHING you can say will change that! Whew, thanks, I had to let that out.
I totally agree- a perfectly decent pre-PPV Raw. Would you rather have had them give away the PPV? I would prefer an AMAZING Summerslam and a half way decent Raw prior to an incredible Raw and a lousy PPV....
Craig Reade "Pool Boy" Chris Jericho stole my beard. That is right, I had it first.
Well, quite frankly, yes I would, since I will never pay $40 to watch a TV program, no matter how good I think it might be. But I can understand why those who would pay money would like to think they are getting something more for their bucks.
All I really want is to be entertained. And if you are only going to have 25 minutes of actual in-ring wrestling, the skits and promos (and in this case, songs) better be darn good, and in my opinion they weren't Monday. And that's all I will say, I don't know how it would rank against other shows this year, and don't care. Let's just say if I were to rank all the shows from best to worst, Monday's show would be on the wrong side of the median.
But as far as the overall build-up to Summerslam, it's been good on the whole, despite Monday's effort. So hopefully it will be a good PPV for those buying. But one question, why couldn't it be a GOOD Raw prior to an INCREDIBLE PPV? Why would having a good show lead to lousy PPV?
If you liked this show "God bless you" I never try to change anyones mind. Personally I thought this was the worst so of the entire year. Actually worst show of recent memory. I have to go back to awful Nitro's for it to come close.
When you have 130 minutes and the only thing that caught my attention was Crash pinning Bradshaw (not nesessary good TV just seeing Bradshaw getting pinned by all people Crash) Trish taking the stage dive (which was a waste because no one remembers), RVD calling Big Show "a tool", and The Rock giving us a disturbing image of "Heyman laying on the beach naked watching Lesner work out". I didn't like a single full segment.
I hated the show because I couldn't find a silver lining anywhere. Sure WWE has done some bad TV, but I've never seen such a bland show from top to bottom... Another thing that made this feel worse was that the TV shows going in a real good direction the last few months (excluding the show with H/Shawn satellite talk for the main event plus the awful 1st hour) and to me it just seemed like they got over-confident and lazy and book NO Finish main events and lazy promos.
Again if you are cool with overhyped no finish main events, no-finish RVD match. 2, 15 minute promos with stuff like "USA sucks and so do you" and "You talk trash know your in it". If that's a perfectly great night of sports entertainment, then enjoy.

I enjoyed Fozzy also with the exception of Lawler's constant talking over the song.
My problem with Raw was why did they bother even setting up the ring? 4 in-ring matches and a ton of promos. 3 of the matches could have been turned into extended back stage promos.
Did HHH say anything remotely interesting during his promo to make me want to see the HHH-HBK match? Everything with the Un-Americans did a good job of building interest in the 2 matches. The Rock promo was good, as always, but after all of the backstage promos it felt tired.
I just felt that there should have been more in-ring action and less promos.
These commercials are superfine because they pay for the production costs of putting CHRIS MOTHERFUCKING BENOIT on my GODDAMN TV SCREEN! I will GO GREYHOUND! I am thinking OUTSIDE THE BUN! – Dean Rasmussen 8/1/2002 Smackdown Workrate Report
FOZZY hella rock as a matter of fact i'm going to buy the CD when my mom gives me money for it. That song "To Kill A Stanger" is sick. Raw on the other hand pretty much was lame is the worst in the Bichoff era by far.
