So, pretty much a "set up" episode, but so much has been set up. We had Sylar hooking up with Mohinder to track down the other Heroes; Claire getting shit on by everybody and her whole life falling apart; Ando and Hiro splitting up for the first time in the series; Matt stealing the diamonds, as well as being able to hear both Nikki and Jessica, which will be a helpful plot point in the future; and Jessica being contracted to kill Nathan. They're moving things in to position for all the shit to hit the fan during sweeps in a few weeks.
I guess they'll probably explain it later, but I want to know why Linderman is putting a hit on Nathan. Last time we heard, they were on reasonable terms with one another; in fact, Linderman was giving a significant contribution to Nathan's campaign fund.

I liked this episode a lot. They took the two characters that were seemingly going nowhere (Nikki and Matt) and threw them together, with pretty good results. And Claire is no Veronica Mars. Ask some questions, girl! Demand answers! I cringed when she ran away after throwing the rock. Blown opportunity there.
Oh, and technically this isn't the first time Hiro and Ando have been separated. They split and quickly reconciled last time they were in Vegas and there was also the time Hiro disappeared to save Charlie.
I think that Claire also tipped her hand with HRG when she told him that he wasn't her real father - shouldn't that info have been wiped by the Haitian ? HRG seemed to react to the jab.
Nice to see that Nip/Tuck Mommy is just as much a scum bag on this show as she is on Nip/Tuck - "I'll split the $50k with you."
and how fast will Sylar kill Mohinder (uietly hoping quickly) after he gets a hold of Mohinder's list ? Maybe he can melt him.......
and finally, I have been to virginia beach recently and there is no view like the view the dead melting nebbish had down there unless you are on the bridge of an aircraft carrier in Norfolk (minor bitch)

I thought her being adopted was something she pretty much always knew. I seem to remember from the first episode where it was mentioned, it was brought up like it wasn't a big deal. I could also be remembering wrong.
I liked that they showed the effects of too many memory wipes. Other than that, I just want something to happen. I'm not even sure I care what at this point. I know nothing happens on Lost either, but at least the flashbacks fill in some back story, so it is a totally wasted hour. But, as was said earlier, it seems like this whole series is a build up without payoff. And yet, I keep watching.
I couldn't disagree with you more, Caliban. I absolutely love LOST, but I can't help but watch it and say that I wish there was more quick payoff like there is with Heroes. For instance, if this was LOST, revealing who Claire's real father is would have taken at least half a season instead of just one episode.
I was never one of the ones hating on the Niki/Jessica storyline, but I gotta say I really like the way it has turned, with Jessica playing the role of unstoppable hitman. I'd love her to meet up with Sylar, who I think is one of the best TV villains I've seen in a long, long time.

I see what you're saying here. It could be that I started watching Lost on DVD, so the slow development wasn't so annoying, at least initially. I think I'm also holding a grudge because Heroes was off the air for a month or so and when it comes back...nothing. Like Hiro's story, I thought the whole family bit was interesting, but that whole exchange that proved his sister was the future of the company meant it took him three weeks to get to Vegas.
Actually, I just had a thought. Maybe the difference between Heroes and Lost, to me, is that each episode of Lost focuses on one character. That means the overall story is going just as slow, but you get a decent chunk of character development for one person. Of course, you won't get much more, if anything, from that character the rest of the season. On Heroes, they split the episode between nearly all of the characters and that seems too slow to me.
Anyway, at this point, I just want to see Linderman. My wife says he was in briefcase in Pulp Fiction, but I'm secretly hoping for Jimmy James.

Maybe so but Lost would've at least made it interesting. I'd rather have an interesting story that was dragged on for a while then get an instant answer that was totally botched not at all suspenseful and not at all a surprise.
I don't understand the people who complain about Lost be dragged out, you realize if they gave up answers so quickly the show would be over by now. Maybe that would be fine with some of the viewers but ABC isn't going to let them end it this year so the writers/directors have to drag it out some how if they want the show to last as long as ABC wants it to be on the air. It's just a television show I don't see why people can't have more patience.

Totally agree with you on this one. Maybe the multitude of complaints have started to shift my thinking a little, but LOST continues to be my favorite show on TV and one of my favorite shows of all time. Give me slow and steady AND entertaining any day of the week.
I'm disappointed because Grantland had the best analysts in baseball (Jonah Keri), basketball (Zach Lowe), football (Bill Barnwell & Robert Mays) - in Keri's and Lowe's case there isn't even a debate, they are THE best at those sports.
