Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you...

Good God, this show gets even more crazy and astounding by the week and I love it.

So we've finally met Claire's real mother, who's apparently a chain-smoking pyromaniac. (The chain-smoking's just a guess, but that was quite clearly her bare hand I saw her lighting the cigarette with in that scene tonight.) The show's also teasing that we'll see who Claire's father is next week, and the way they advertised in the go-home promo, it's probably a character we've already met. Logical answer: Radioactive Man, just for the ridiculous irony that it would produce (two possessing extensively destructive powers combine to form a healer).

Well, we're gonna find out for sure next week if H.R.G. is a super or not, because he's now in an isolation room alone with what I imagine is a very highly pissed-off Sylar... but the thing I can't wrap my head around is how he was able to fake death, just like Claire did very early on. Hmmm... Maybe Peter isn't just a "sponge" (as Mohinder put it), but a conduit as well?

I've got a dirty feeling that Doctor Who trained Sylar as well.

That's one very clever kid that D.J.'s got to look after. I think if Niki knew the truth, she wouldn't be so desperate to do everything possible to get back to him, and I can't see that session with the psychiatrist ending well. At the very least though, maybe we'll finally get some answers as to just what's up with her (and I still don't think it's a personality disorder; it's too easy that way).

Oh, and who knows what Hiro's father is doing in New York...

incoherent rambling continues...

Yikes. Talk about information overload.

While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.

I like the theory floating around that Nathan Petrelli is Claire's father. He's already shown a liking for blondes...

I could buy that. We certainly don't know that much about Nathan's background and the idea that he had a one-night-stand with Claire's mom obviously isn't out of the question considering what happened with Niki. Plus, if Nathan was present for the fire (which, logically, Claire's mother likely accidentally set as a result of not being able to control her power), it would sure explain his reluctance to embrace what he has, because then he'll have seen the negative side of its possibilities.

Also forgot: Doctor Who probably trained Radioactive Man as well.

I don't think Sylar faked his death. I think he actually died, but his power "fixed" him. Hence the episode title.

I agree, sort of. I do think he actually died, but I think he did it purposely since he has this whole power where he is able to fix things. Somehow he knew that he could come back to life.

I don't think Nathan Petrelli needs Claire's mom's powers to be the reason he is reluctant to use his powers. He's already reluctant about using the powers because of the car accident.

Unfortunately I already knew who George Takei was going to be going into the episode but I think it would've been cooler if he turned out to be Ando from the future and it turns out Ando was the one trying to stop him.

Invisible Man teaching Sylar makes sense but I don't think Radioactive Man does. Radioactive Man doesn't really know how to control his powers so if Invisible man taught him he did a pretty crappy job.

I don't know why, but I have a strange feeling that Claire's father will turn out to be Claire's father. I wonder just how close he is to putting it together that Claire and the Haitaian are working together (those chimes seemed to tip him off.) I look forward to Bennett squaring off with Sylar. What was that thing sticking out of the back of Sylar's head at the end?

I wonder if Bennett ever had Mr. Muggles mind-wiped? He may be like the R2-D2 of this show...

I agree that Dr. Who (what was his name? Raines or something?) must have trained Sylar. I look forward to seeing how things play out with him.

I actually thought that Claire's father was going to turn out to be Claire's father. I think they are going to try and swerve us by not actually swerving us. Also the clip looked like it could possibly be him.

I think the thing sticking out of Sylar's head was some kind of device they had on him in order to keep him comatose or whatever.

I loved the "unspecial Ando" line even more than the "This is how we roll" line.

Before I read this thread I felt that Claire's dad was gonna be revealed as Nathan, if for no other reason than the glimpse of his arm and his shirt that we saw in the teaser and the way the voiceover guy implied it was someone we've already met (I guess it could alternatively be someone with a completely crazy power). Now that Bullitt brings up the point of Nathan's prior history of one night stands and his penchant for blondes, I like that theory even more.

I agree with Texas Kelly: there was a ridiculous number of things going on in this episode. So many, in fact, that I don't think I can try to process them all right now. I may have to watch this episode again online.

If Dr. Who was Sylar's mentor, why didn't Sylar kill him and take his powers like he did with the others ?

Love that Nip/Tuck chick is Claire's mother and Nathan is certainly old enough to have had a one night stand and be Claire's father. So is powers are handed down genetically, who has the power in the Petrelli family ? Was it dead dad or is it society mom ?

They have been teasing in print ads that a "Hero" will die - is it HRG ? I can't see any way that Sylar lets HRG live. And now that I think about it, did Sylar use Dr. Who's power of invisibility or was he behind the door ?

Does Micah also "fix" the ATM video cameras after he is done emptying the machine ?

With the ticking clock sound effect, I think that they were trying to imply that Sylar can stop and start himself like a clock.

I was so excited to see George Takei's name. Mr. Sulu on Heroes Woo-Hoo! Doctor Who was just geek overload. What is Tom Baker doing anyway?

Although honestly I didn't realize that Takei was going to be Hiro's father until he popped up.

Is it possible that Hiro's father is also the Las Vegas crime boss that we have never seen? (Can't remember his name off the top of my head.)

Oh and apparently the list has 36 names on it. I wonder if that includes the ones that Sylar "ate". And does it include just this generation?

A friend of mine mentioned the possibility that Claire's father might be Nikki's father, which would make them (half) sisters. I like that idea better than Nathan, which while plausible, might be a little too much for me. (That did look a lot like his ring in that promo shot, though.)

I'm not sure the character has a name yet. He told Peter, "I'm the Invisible Man! I'm Claude Rains", referring to the actor that played the Invisible Man in 1933. I just like that they had him say "Fantastic!", even if it was sarcastic in tone.

Good episode overall. The Matt storyline needs to go somewhere soon, though. I can only take so much of him whining and fixing his plumbing. Thrilling TV, that was.

I think Claire's dad might be Linderman... He has some sort of time to all of them. This would tie him to Claire.

I seem to remember something about this from an earlier episode. I didn't have DVR back then so I can't reference the exact episode. It went something like this;

Nathan (knowing full well that he could fly)tried to talk Peter out of discovering his powers by saying he was delusional....like their father.

I think it was mentioned that Peter & Nathan's dad killed himself because of is delusional thoughts of being able to fly (or other power). I don't think that it was developed much further than that.....yet. Then again I may be crazy and that episode never aired.

I think something is up with their mother too. She seems a bit sinister to me. Especially last week when she said that when Peter wakes from his coma she was going to kill him. It was a very short comment that was said in jest, as a mother would say about her son. However I sensed a bit of conviction in the delivery of the lines.

Maybe he turned around and couldn't find him? Dr. Who might be the only person who CAN escape Sylar, at least until they rip off "The Flash"

A bit off-topic, but anyone (anyone geeky enough, that is) think that Hiro's power is actually something like the Flash's super-speed? See, he's not actually stopping time, he's just vibrating his molecules to the point where he moves so fast that it simply appears that everyone else is standing still ... As for the actual "time travelling" that Hiro has done, the Flash could pull off that trick on his intergalactic treadmill (or whatever the heck that thing was called), where he could vibrate the molecules of his being so that he "teleports" to alternate universes. Therefore, the "future" that he found himself in where New York suffers a nuclear explosion was not the actual future of his own universe, but an alternate one where events are a couple of weeks ahead of his own.
