this is going to sound dumb, but bear with me.

What if Steph and HHH weren't going out, and instead, she dated say, Funaki. Would he be the guy above the glass Ceiling right now? I mean, the only reason HHH is up there is because of the boss's daughter.

Just think about that one.

Yeah, that's the only reason. That plus the great matches he put on from late 1999 up until his injury. And stepping up to carry the promotion when Austin, Undertaker, and Foley were too broken down to do it any longer.

Only reason. Sheesh.

I agree with Shem the penman. And I'll say this for the umpteenth thousandth time, Triple H hatred has gotten old. It's passe.

Respect the opinions of others. Unless they're unoriginal, uninventive morons with no class who use racial slurs and homosexual hate-language for insults. Then break the bastard down. It's 2002 ya'll. There's other races and gays a plenty out there in the real world. Get used to it.

(points to self) Is tired of bitching about Triple H all the time. Is no longer contributing to the hatred. Ir's a waste of our times. We're just going to have to accept he's a main guy and he can't wrestle as well. Period.

It may not be the only reason, but any theory that lets poor Funaki get some McMahon ass and a push would go over huge with me!

Go KelseyGrammarMan! Give me hope!

No. The biggest hope is knowing that when it comes time for Vince to embarrassingly job someone out of the company, it would be against Funaki. Come on, Hogan! Bitch out the boss! I'm BEGGIN' YA! MAKE FUNAKI FAMOUS!

Big Vis, too.

No, HHH hatred is going to be in retro vogue after this last Raw, whereas ignoring the billowing columns of smoke in regards to the fires of any HHH rumors is now officially passe according to the best trend-watchers around.

And no, Funaki sleeping with the whole McMahon family would not have gotten him over the top, and no one is suggesting that the sole reason HHH is the top guy in the fed is due to him sleeping with Steph. What people like me say is that maybe HHH wouldn't get quite so much time, and wouldn't be booked to seem quite so invincible, and would have to give a little bit to people in feuds. By being in the ear of the bosses, he's able to give his character those little nudges from time to time that put a little distance between him and say Jericho or RVD....perhaps just enough distance to slide a pane of glass in? ;)

You never know when you'll meet that special someone... the someone that's mysteriously blind to your flaws. or, you know, stupid enough not to realize that yes, you really are that cynical.

Here is a more interesting 'what if'..

What if Steph and HHH ever broke up?
Now I know that there are those that say Hunter will stay with her just for the power but if Steph says GO he gotsta go..
Vince isn't really the nicest guy around to those that do him harm (business but probably personal as well) so what would happen to HHH?

'HHH..this is a barn. Those 7 cows are what we like to call your crowd. Please enjoy it for the rest of your career!'

"...And I use that to fuck them some place fairly uncomfortable."

We'd all get to write rejoicing threads about how Jericho, Benoit, Booker and RVD finally get the job HHH's owes them.

I'm going to have to play the proverbil fence walker in this issue. HHH has earned his spot at the top, no doubt about it. He helped carry the company through injuries of major stars, and looked good doing so. I remember a time when everyone criticized his wrestling ability (he only had 3 moves), and they were very sick of seeing him on their TV. He then went on to earn everyones respect during that injury filled time, and even more so when he finished that Raw match after he was seriously injured. Now it seems everyone has reverted back to bashing HHH, and it does have a lot to do with the amount of power he seems to have. However, Vince is smart, and I feel he would not want to start alienating fans, so I have a feeling that in the near future we will see HHH put over at least one of the close to main event guys (RVD, Y2J, Benoit, etc.)

    Just think about that one.

Just my opinion, of course, but that doesn't sound at all dumb to me, theFman. But as long as we're going to fantasize, allow me, if you will, to change the scenario ever so slightly and ask that you think about this one: What if Steph and HHH weren't going out, and instead, she dated, say, Stacy Keibler? Imagine, if you will, Steph and Stacy traveling together from town to town. Picture the possibility of Steph and Stacy being intimate. Envision Stacy being the one having a sexual relationship with the boss's daughter. Visualize Steph and, excuse me...there'e something I need to do right back later...

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but HHH and Stephanie wound up together after they were "married" on television, right? That's the way I always understood it.

If that's the case, then HHH was already getting the monster main event push anyway.

I'd like to give Steph some pushin'!!! Trips is one lucky mothertrucker!!! Now that HHH does'nt move like he used to, they should have whoever laid out the HHH Vs. Foley matches help him with his current matches. Who was that? Even though they were gimmick matches, I believe Foley was better than he had been in a while(damn I miss that guy).

There is just something wrong with the head writer dating a wrestler- talk about a hug conflict of interest. In any normal company, something along those lines would be SO outlawed.... I am suprised that we do not hear a bigger stink about that from inside the lockerroom....

Huh? Every topic seems to turn into an I-hate-HHH-thread lately. Damned, Raw must have really been awful to watch.

The question is actually pretty funny, just imagine Funaki main eventing Wrestlemania:-) But honestly, I think HHH would have made it as well. Maybe not that big and powerful, of course he has the chance to make himself look better, but he really is (was?) that damn good to be a big time player! He wrestled outstanding matches, and always made his opponent look good. While he doesn't seem to be as good as he was pre-injury, he still can work a really good 20 minutes match.

More on Jungle Jim Steel...he also wrestled over here in Puerto Rico for a while, he still in great physical shape but his ring work is even worse than when WCW. Others that I had the chance to see over the holidays in the island, Rey Mysterio Jr.
