Thanks to a local TV Sports Director friend of mine, I was lucky enough to score some free tickets and a backstage pass to the Raw brand show this weekend in Bossier City. I was instructed to be at the arena at 6:00 for a "Meet and Greet". Anybody know how this works or what to expect?
The only one I've been around was back in 1997. It was basically some autograph tables set up in the arena concourse with the "B Crew" stars. (I seem to remember Henry Godwinn, Savio Vega and Justin Hawk Bradshaw)
It could be different nowadays, but to me it felt no different than any other mall autograph signing.
Just a chance to meet a bunch of the wrestlers. They don't tell you who ahead of time, generally, because they don't know who will be free. But you can get some photos, autographs, etc., and the wrestlers are usually on their best behavior -- so if they're not too busy, you can ask questions.
"The Rock also knows damn well, what in recent years the WCW Title has come to... Diamond Dallas Page? Booker T? The guy from Scream 2, the dog from Married with Children, the maid from the Jeffersons! Shane McMahon, this title is just like your sister, everybody gets a turn!"
If Punk takes the belt with him, Vince can decommission it and introduce a new belt. I'd prefer that to Punk customizing his belt like Austin or Hardy.
