One of my guilty summer pleasures returned last night in the form of Chef Gordon Ramsey. There were so many f-bombs last night, I couldn't keep track. I am always amazed at the split personality he shows between the swearing, maniacal lunatic in the kitchen and the smiling, relatively engaging dude who goes to dinner with the contestants.
Anyway, I really enjoyed the two hour premiere last night and wondered if anyone else was a closet Ramsey fan.

I wouldn't say I'm a Ramsey fan, but if you've read Tony Bourdain's "Kitchen Confidential" (ironically a former Fox show) and about how much swearing and pressure goes on, then I'm at peace with what he does.
My quick takes:
--Nice to see that there's ONE~! sous-chef and that's it. Hello? Groomed to be a finalist?
--Is it me, or are the "diners" actors? Second year in a row that you have some asshole come up to the kitchen going mano-a-mano with Ramsey. It's so unneeded that it's not funny.

His screaming, and idiotic behavior has made me turn off that show forever. You can't treat people like that.
Reality shows are not real life. Every single person in the kitchen knew what they were getting themselves into when they tried out. A bombastic over the top personality sells the show. I have to admit that like Pieman, this show is a guilty pleasure.
And yes, the diners are probably all wannabe actors looking for a free meal and a few more precious clips to add to their reel/resume.
