A glorified squash involves kicking out of the Last Ride and once again countering Old School?

I'm not sure some of you know what a 'squash' match is. That means one side gets no offense, or at the very least the match is totally one sided. Undertaker and Punk have had three matches and they've all been give and take scenarios where Punk gives as good as he gets. Last night's match had the same but with a clean decisive finish in favor of the Undertaker. Hardly a squash. (Not saying I didn't want the opposite outcome and am not disappointed by the booking and placement on the card, but that was no squash.)

I've been watching wrestling for 25 years. I've seen a few squash matches. That's why I said "glorified".

Oh, so you mistakenly think that glorified means "not at all"?

For those wondering how many HIAC matches have had blood:

Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker - Badd Blood 10/5/97
Undertaker vs Mankind - KOTR 6/28/98
Undertaker vs Big Boss Man - Wrestlemania XV 3/28/99
Triple H vs Cactus Jack - No Way Out 2/27/00
Six Pack HIAC - Armageddon 12/10/00
Triple H vs Chris Jericho - Judgement Day 5/19/02
Brock Lesnar vs Undertaker - No Mercy 10/20/02
Triple H vs Kevin Nash - Bad Blood 6/15/03
Triple H vs Shawn Michaels - Bad Blood 6/13/04
Batista vs Triple H - Vengeance 6/26/05
Undertaker vs Randy Orton - Armageddon 12/18/05
DX vs Vince, Shane and Big Show - Unforgiven 9/17/06
Batista vs Undertaker - Survivor Series 11/18/07

It has seriously been just like 6 HIAC matches that have had no blood I believe.

This includes:

Austin/UT vs Kane/Mankind from Raw before KOTR 98
Foley vs Kane on Raw in August 98
Edge/UT at Summerslam and the 3 matches last night.

I seem to recall that when the WWE implemented this dress code, the Undertaker and Cena (among others) weren't required to wear fancy clothes in public because it didn't fit their characters or gimmicks.

Keeping that in mind, business casual doesn't seem to fit CM Punk's character, either.

I was otherwise committed last night, & didn't see the show live. I came to my pals at the W to get their opinions of the show, to sway my decision about catching a replay. I see 3 -- maybe as many as 5 -- posters here who actually saw the show, & had opinions to share.

I know what It's False thought. I know what John Orquiola thought. I know what GodEatGod thought. I know what geemoney thought about the ME, at least. (And, sincerely, thanks to you all for posting!) Are y'all really the only ones who actually saw the show???

To be clear, I'm not bashing the ancillary contributions, per se. I'm more just really ... surprised at how abysmal the actual viewership appears to be.

Someone at WWE must've seen pics of Mr. CP Munk, ROH champion, suit wearer.

I saw it! I thought it was okay. The tag and IC title matches were good but three HIACs as a concept was a disaster. I was against both world title changes but at least the Orton win makes sense a day later since it was to set up Orton's terms and Cena having to leave Raw.

I love love love how people can objectively stand back and say "Cena's not good" and "Randy Orton's not good" and yet, whoa, whenever they have a match it's good to great. Not to mention Cena dragging good matches out of Khali in the past, and having a litany of great matches with pretty much every opponent not named Big Show or JBL for the past three years. Yeah, he's a real stinker alright.

Cena's inability to sell is the major problem. Cena is being built as the Hulk Hogan of the Millennium. Unfortunately, it totally takes me out of his matches when he is overcomes impossible odds and moves that have taken guys out for months, he recovers two minutes later. The big faces of the last few years like Rock, Austin, HBK, Flair, Foley, Taker and others have had matches where they look like they barely won. It made their opponents look good as well as give the fans some sympathy for the faces. Cena's matches either have him screwed by outside interference or he takes a beating and then magically heals while running around the ring. Granted, that is the A typical face win, but he has taken it to the extreme. I feel more indifferent when Cena wins or just outright astounded by the way they book him.

I have been a supporter of John for a long time even in 2005-2007 where he was basically getting creamed on the net. I do think he is a talented wrestler, but he is so boring that its impossible to defend him at this point. Also, Big Show has proven in the last few months when motivated that he can be the best big man in the business. I will agree with JBL since his promos are really good for a heel, but as a wrestler he is a joke.

Big Show has only looked good these past few months because he's been batting clean-up for Jericho. It's a lot easier to look impressive when you're only half of a whole - just ask Billy Gunn.

Cena's a GREAT seller. Once again, I refer to his Khali matches. Take issue with the Superman booking, I certainly agree with you, but there's nothing wrong with Cena's ability. The staleness is entirely down to a lack of fresh opponents and poor booking. A Cena/Punk feud, for example, would be superb at this stage, and not just because of Punk.

I'll say I think I liked the show at lot more than most. Especially Morrison vs. Ziggler. And the women's match.

Thats why this was the first PPV I didn't buy sence last year. Looks like Orton at No Way Out will be the only blood on a PPV all year. Hell in the Cell is/should always be a blood bath. In Nash vs HHH, Foley the special ref bleed. In Taker vs Brock, Heyman on the outside bleed. I miss blood in the WWe. Looses some appeal to me.

Is this actually true? If so, that's pretty crazy.
