|  #1 Posted on 5.3.02 1455.02 | OK, last night was one of the only times in recent history that I can remember a heel winning a cage match by clmbing out of it. They've won by pinfalls, but they seem to never win by climbing out. Can anyone think of any other times this has happened, particularly in the last few years?
Here, I'll even start a list of cage matches and whose won them:
HHH vs. Kane(circa Jan/Feb 1999): HHH
Austin vs. McMahon(St. valentine's Day Masacre, Feb. 99): Austin
Rock vs. HHH(circa July 1999): The Rock
rock vs. Benoit(circa March 2000): Rock
Rock vs. Shane McMahon(circa April 2000): Rock
Hardyz vs. Dudleyz(No Mercy? 2000): Hardyz
Benoit vs. Angle(circa April/May 2001): Benoit
I'm probably forgetting some so fill in the gaps if you can think of any...

| #2 Posted on 5.3.02 1547.00 | Jericho defeated Austin in a cage match the night after WWF Vengeance. And Angle won that cage match on Benoit in the summer of 2001. HHH once defeated the Rock in an UK WWF ppv in October 1999. The Hardyz and the Dudleyz had a cage match at Survivor Series 2001, and the Dudleyz won. The Hardyz and Dudleyz didn't wrestle at No Mercy 2000. The Hardyz wrestled the conquistadores, and the Dudleyz participated in a table battle royal. Val Venis won a cage match against Rikishi at Fully Loaded 2000. And Shawn Michaels defeated the Undertaker at Bad Blood 97 in the first Hell in a Cell.

| #3 Posted on 5.3.02 1605.00 | Oops, ok I did make a couple mistakes, but let me clarify something as well. First off, I meant Edge and Christian vs. Hardyz. Also, I couldn't remember when it happened, but I believe it was actually Unforgiven 2000(I was close).
Hardyz vs. Dudleyz, HBK vs. Taker, and Val vs. Rikishi don't count since they were all pinfall finishes. As far as Benoit vs. Angle and Austin vs. Jericho goes, though, I guess that was just a mental slip. Funny how I remember things that happened 3 years ago so much clearer than I do things that have happened within the past year...
Anyway, you gotta admit, all in all, it's pretty uneven.

| #4 Posted on 5.3.02 1814.33 | I think the majority of faces go over in the cage matches 'cause they are generally meant to be the blowoff. And in a blowoff the fans want to see the faces win, and go home happy. It's just the WWF giving us that happy, storybook ending in most cases.

That bugs the hell out of me. That's why I generally don't like the standard WWF Cage Match rules, with the exception of the Bret/Owen at Summerslam '94.
EDIT: Thinking about it, I also like the Benoit/Angle Cage Match from RAW last June.

St. Valentine`s Day Massarce(1999)-Austin vs Vince, Vince flips the bird,Austin back in, Big Show beats the crap outta him.
RAW after Vengeance(2001)- Austin vs Y2J,Y2J flips the bird,Austin back in, Booker T run-in, Y2J wins.
Basically, to beat Stone Cold, give him a finger or 2.

EDIT: I checked a review of it, and my memory is at fault...HBK did win. But I still recall somebody on WWF TV claiming that Taker had never lost a Cell match. Maybe it was Taker himself?

You are possibly getting mixed up with Undertaker saying that he hurts people in the match. This was illustrated by the beatings recieved by HBK and Mankind.
