That's right: Vince Carter will replace the injured Kobe Bryant on the U.S. roster for the Olympic qualifying tournament in Puerto Rico. Yeah, that's the ONLY reason why Kobe is not on the team; because he's injured ... sure. Alessandro "Hercules" Boondy Promote this thread!

What has he done the past 2 seasons except be injured and have his team achieve its only success when he was not playing? Will the woman who left her nine infants at Shea Stadium, please pick them up. They already scored six in the first off Tom Glavine, and know more letters of the alphabet than John Franco.

AIM: # 5 Posted on 29.7.03 2024.26 Well maybe they figure if they keep Vince on the bench that, like the Raptors, they will have a better chance of winning. Lance's Response: THAT IS AWESOME!

ICQ: # 7 Posted on 30.7.03 1417.43 Amazing how the US can tell more than a year ahead of time that Kobe will be injured for the 2004 Olympics. I wish I had their crystal ball.

Actually, Kobe is only officially out of the qualifying tournament. Assuming that the US qualifies, Kobe will play in the Olympics, unless of course he is starring in his own version of Oz.
Nets were playing with 8 healthy players for most of the season, and they were picked to be a low 20 win team when healthy coming into the season, so it is less tanking games and more they suck.
