Haywire is out this week on both sides of the Atlantic and I was fortunate (?) enough to see it last night. I'm sorry to report that this fails to deliver in every regard. Former MMA champ Gina Carano would surely beat the hell out of me in a fight, but I could out-act her any day of the week. A total lack of charisma and believability. She's hung out to dry by a ghastly script, as well. I'm guess Banderas and Douglas took home a nice pay cheque for what looks to be a day's work.

Here's my full review over at my film blog: http://londonfilmfanatiq.com/2012/01/18/review-haywire/

One to avoid. I'm sure watching her old MMA bouts would prove far more satisfying.

It's terrible. Just about everything about it is awful, especially Gina Carano, the undisputed, undefeated champion of bad acting and perplexing line readings.

When a movie is so convoluted that they have to bring in a pointless character just so the lead can spend part of the movie laying the plot out to him (for the benefit of the audience), something's wrong.

I did, however, like how they ended it.

Oh it's the best show on HBO now. Al has to be my favorite character ever. When he was hurt for a couple weeks, the show just wasn't the same. Now that he's back talking again, it's amazing. I would also say that Jane is awesome too.
