Haywire is out this week on both sides of the Atlantic and I was fortunate (?) enough to see it last night. I'm sorry to report that this fails to deliver in every regard. Former MMA champ Gina Carano would surely beat the hell out of me in a fight, but I could out-act her any day of the week. A total lack of charisma and believability. She's hung out to dry by a ghastly script, as well. I'm guess Banderas and Douglas took home a nice pay cheque for what looks to be a day's work.
When a movie is so convoluted that they have to bring in a pointless character just so the lead can spend part of the movie laying the plot out to him (for the benefit of the audience), something's wrong.
I liked the movie alot, but it was definately the least of the three. I think most people here have hit the nail on the head; it just tried to do too much at once. The story was carrying too much weight for the amount of time they had to tell it in.
