After leading the Atlanta Hawks to a 37-45 record, their first playoff berth in nine years and helping them stretch the top-seeded Boston Celtics to seven games in the first round, Mike Woodson was retained as the Hawks' head coach with a two-year extension offered to him by new general manager Rick Sund.
I'm no expert on the Hawks, by any means, but it seems like a positive move to me. They're definitely a team on the rise.
