| #1 Posted on 7.1.04 1141.03 | Instant Rating: 3.08 | Now that I have a bigger hard drive, I was looking to back up some of the websites that I like to go back and read the archives every one in a while. I got the idea a long time ago after receiving the CD with the Wrestlecrap Archive, so I wanted to do it for some of my favorite sites in case they ever go down for whatever reason. Like Slash or WeeklyVisitor or some of the archives at TOA. Anyway, I needed to know if there was a special way of doing that without going to every page and saving that page to my hard drive.
Thanks for any help...

I know there are programs to do it, because I used one a couple years ago to archive the whole Heaven's gate website. I don't have it anymore, but I believe I did a search on web site backup, probably at tucows or cnet.com. I'll have some time later and I'll take a look

A quick net search does show there is a 30 day trial version of it out there. No luck finding the freeware version after about 5-10 minutes of searching.

| #4 Posted on 12.1.04 2119.56 | I use WinHTTrack (http://www.httrack.com/).
It's GPL/Open source and I've had good luck with it. It has lots of options and is pretty flexible. |
