Petey Williams retains the X Division Title by pinning Consequences Creed with the Canadian Destroyer, after Sheik Abdul Bashir (aka Davari) interferes and hits Creed with a steel chair. After the match Bashir cuts a promo about how America sucks, and that he is the "Middle Eastern Nightmare."

Taylor Wilde, Gail Kim and ODB defeat The Beautiful People and Awesome Kong when Wilde rolls up Angelina Love. Traci Brooks was the referee, wearing a saucy little outfit with ass tassels and a lot of cleavage, just in case you were wondering if you could stop taking the Knockouts division seriously.

Beer Money defeats LAX to become the new Tag Team Champions when Homicide is pinned after getting a beer bottle to the face (in particular, to his eye, which was "injured" when he was put through a glass table on Impact). Pretty good match which saw Hernandez Border Tossing Homicide over the ringpost and onto Beer money out on the floor.

Jay Lethal pins Sonjay Dutt with the Lethal Combo and a Savage Elbow. This sucked. You know, when a Dutt/Lethal match is getting "BORING" chants, you're doing something wrong. (It also got "FIRE RUSSO" chants.) A couple of nice spots but the gimmick really drug it down. And, come on, we've had several chain/strap matches already this year. A perfect example of how Russo (let's assume) values concept over content.

Christian Cage and Rhino defeat Team 3D after Rhino gores Brother Ray into (but not through) a table. Pretty fun. Both Johnny Devine and Abyss came out afterward, so expect a 6-man match soon.

AJ Styles killed Kurt Angle dead with a DDT OFF THE TOP ROPE -- not the middle rope -- in this Last Man Standing match. They played it like Angle injured his neck and was unable to stand because of it -- I was really glad when Styles came back down and spilled Angle off the stretcher because it meant that Angle was okay.

Really good match. One of the big spots was Angle suplexing Styles off the top of the entrance ramp to the un-cushioned floor below and then hitting a somersault senton (!) onto the standing Styles. Insane. As good as this was, I was cringing throughout, and I hope that the "neck injury" is an excuse to give Angle a holiday for a while.

After the match, Sting showed up and gave Styles a Scorpion Death Drop, just to remind him that 50-year-old part-timers are more important than he is.

Samoa Joe pins Booker T after a guitar shot to retain the championship in a Steel Cage Weapons Match. Pretty okay, if a little anticlimactic, and Joe was dominant for most of the match, which is I think the right choice at this point.

The ending was, let's say, "dorky," with the lights going out and when they came back on, Joe had a guitar, which had not previously been in the cage, and he El Kabonged Booker with it. The key to the ending, I think, is that it wasn't a case of Samoa Joe needing Jeff Jarrett's help to beat Booker, it was a case of Joe helping JJ get inside Booker's head (for reasons I'm sure to be revealed soon).

Pretty good, overall. Some of the booking decisions really hurt (hampering Dutt and Lethal, killing the momentum of Joe/Booker). I'm not excited about the return of Jarrett.

Anyone else watch?

Anyone else fear a Russo-led, ex-WCW stable consisting of Sting, Booker T, Nash & Jarrett?

Actually I don't. That's one good thing about the current Russo run -- he's kept himself entirely off camera this time. Maybe I've been foolishly lulled into a false sense of security, but I don't see him coming out anytime soon.

(Unless, of course, the "Fire Russo" chants make people believe that he would be a "heat magnet" as an on-air character -- and, that said, as soon as Russo steps out from behind the curtain I'm turning the TV off.)

Well Sting, Booker and Nash all look like heels and heels tend to work together a lot so I wouldn't be surprised if they're all buddies in some way. But I think TNA would be nuts if they didn't bring back Jarrett as a face. Of course TNA is nuts sometimes so I guess you never know. But my guess is we'll probably see a Booker/Nash/Sting vs. Joe/AJ/Jarrett match at some point. Probably the same show as Christian/Rhino/Abyss vs. Team 3D/Devine. Heck, let's make it an all six man tag show!

After seeing Benoit, Eddie and Bubba Ray wrestle twice tonight, Nash get hurt, and way too much "llet's take you back to..." segments, I change my mind and say RAW needs Kanyon.
