So, I am looking for video of Bill smashing the clock to start one of the days, or maybe him punching the ned the insurance salesman guy - or general fun. and I found this
That site sounds like the kind of term paper I would write for a class if I had decided to just totally screw around with the final, the sort of thing where you end up flipping a coin between "the moral drama of Groundhog Day" or "Homeric tendencies in 1980's AWA tag team wrestling".
My brain scanned that sentence and slapped "Homoerotic" in there without a second thought. I think you'd probably have an easier time selling that paper to your professor than the Homeric one...
Hee, I dunno, I kinda liked the Groundhog Day "term paper" thing. I thought it was well-written and insightful, and in fact I've known for some time now that there's more to that movie than meets the eye.
I particularly liked the scenes with the old man. Phil doesn't know the guy, he has absolutely no reason to care about him, except that he's a fellow human being who's lived a much different, very difficult life.
And while Phil ultimately can't save his life, at least he makes the last day of the man's life one that he cherishes because of the compassion of a stranger.
Anyway-- now for something slightly more upbeat-- the scene that I always have to rewind several times whenever I see this movie.
