The Good:

Funaki doing mike work is always a plus, even though I couldn't understand it when he announced his partner's name. I think he was the same guy who worked a dark match, tagged with Haas at the ACC taping. The local guy was the face-in-peril, and Doug Basham & Red Dogg kept the crowd into this by badmouthing Canada and the wrestler. Funaki rolled up Dogg for 3.

Spanky/Shannon Moore vs. Crash/Nunzio was fun. I was seated near where Nunzio was (He was still wearing his FBI tights). I prepared for this, and studied the classic tome "Merda! The Italian they don't teach you in school". For future reference "Si sorella da per niente" seemed to get the best reaction. And I didn't even have to resort to the many variants of "Vaffanculo" or "Figlio di putana". Crash & Nunzio were booked as heels, but got the "I recognize those guys" face pop. Crash grabbed a hold of the ropes to pin Moore.

The meat of Matt Hardy/Chuck Palumbo was repeated on Velocity, but the ending was different, and the work was good. Matt was great at bringing the heat into this, and Chuck started to get a consistent face reaction.

Kidman vs. Jamie Noble was nice. Nidia is so into her role at ringside it is scary. I had to mark for Noble including "C'Mon Boy" into the beatdown. The SSP looks amazing live.

Heyman's pre-match rant was great. He shut up the E-C-W chants by saying he's glad he went out of business because of all the idiots in Hamilton cheering it. Then we get the "I suck because your mother showed me how". Why he didn't point out the obvious error in the "BIG SHOW IS A SRIMP" sign is beyond me.

The post-match stuff with Brock Lesnar & Kurt Angle staring each other down was great. If they are gauging how this will go over, based on Hamilton, the answer was "really well".

Bill DeMott/Albert vs. Shelton Benjamin/Charlie Haas was solid, in a WCW Saturday Night-ish sort of way when Johnny Gunn, Tracey Smothers and one of their ever-changing partners would to JTTS duty. Albert seems to think his partner still goes by Hugh Morrus.

Gail Kim. Dawn Marie's the worker in the Torrie/Dawn feud, so thankfully, they brought some wrestling to go along with the B&P T&A. Gail gets the home country win.

Eddy Guerrero is the ultimate in sports entertainment. Not only can he work, but he brings the entertainment by being such an incredible dick that you want to see him get his ass handed to him every day for a year. Not as much wrestling as I would like, but basking in the rudo glory of Eddy is incredible.

The Bad:

While the pre and post-match promos in Brock/Big Show were great, the match itself left a lot to be desired. A body slam by Brock stood out, but that was all.

I tried to be open-minded about Steiner, and I know I can't judge him by this match alone. But, this all that we have in his canon so far in this run. The couple of suplexes looked solid, and the heat was great. But the punches and kicks were very loose (and that's what the bulk of his offense was), and the Steiner Recliner looks as unconvincing as it ever did.

Dawn Marie doing a promo to make her convince the crowd she is a bad-ass is like watching Milhouse on the Simpsons trying to do the same.

The Ugly:

Pink crushed velvet tights. Just say no, Spanky.

At least two fights in the crowd during the final two matches.

The guy whose favourite insult was "Big (gay person)". To his credit he did add "Mow my lawn, you big (gay person)" for Eddy. Isn't tolerance a wonderful thing? Is there such a thing as "Shit! The English they don't teach you in school"?
