Yeah, I know the old Xbox is dead with the 360 on the way but wanted to make sure everyone knew this came out today. If you have played Half Life 2 on your computer then you have no reason to get this. It is the exact same game. If you have never played it then you have no reason NOT to get this. I was skeptical at first if they could port this with much success but the game looks tremendous.

There is no multi-player but don't let that stop you from picking this up. It is an incredibly fun and immerse single player game. I can't recommend this one enough.

I'll second the recommendation for those who don't have PCs that can handle it. It's a nice way for the original XBox to have a respectable last hurrah before MS buries it to make way for the new.

Ars Technica (via Deadspin) has a source saying the magazine is coming to an end. The magazine had been outsourced to Future Publishing: Like many others, I read it when I was kid, only vaguely was aware it was still around, but am sad to see it go.
