In the early WWF days watching a superstar with some drops of blood all over his face was kind of disturbing... Now its familiar see at least one wrestler bleeding in every good PPV event...
I find out some superstars that bleed a lot, and really fast, looks like his heads are turning really weak .. or at least they bleed faster than other superstars.
This are some guys that bleed really fast...

Was that the match that Jericho wrestled after breaking his arm while practicing in the ring earlier that day? Jericho's a tough mofo!
Anyway, about the question, when I started watching wrestling when I was about 6 or 7, I watched Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling on Saturday morning and Georgia Championship Wrestling on Saturday night (they were both joined to be the NWA in about 1986). I also used to go watch Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling and then the NWA at the old Greenville Memorial Auditorium and the Township Auditorium in Columbia, SC. Those were some bloody territories.
Mid Atlantic Wrestling had some of the bloodiest matches ever with guys like Ric Flair, Wahoo McDaniel, Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant, Greg Valentine, Ricky Steamboat, etc. There was never a bloodier feud than Ricky Steamboat & Jay Youngblood vs. Sargeant Slaughter & Don Kernodle.
Georgia Wrestling also had some heavy bleeders like Tommy Rich, Buzz Sawyer, Ole Anderson, Ted DiBiase, etc.
Then, the NWA rarely ended a show without huge blood stains on the mat. Ric Flair used to wrestle 45 - 60 minute matches EVERY NIGHT and his bleeched hair would be red after every one of them. Then you also had Dusty Rhodes, Tully Blanchard, Magnum T.A., Ole & Arn Anderson, the Rock & Roll Express, etc. Cage matches were guaranteed blood baths.
If you saw guys like Ric Flair, Wahoo McDaniel, Dusty Rhodes, and Ragin Bull Manny Fernandez in person, you could look at the scars on their forehead and understand why guys are hesitant to blade like they used to.

Sickest bladejob I can remember is Eric Embry back in Southwest Championship Wrestling. Looked like he was hit by a car.
The Y2J one in SMW was brutal as well.
Abdullah comes to mind also, as far as old school goes. And, honorable mention for the bloodiest (and in my opinion best ever) fued Tommy Rich and Buzz Sawyer. | Barbwire Mike

If you watch closely you can see the ref (was it Hildebrand?) ask him if he's OK and Chris replies "aspirin, brother" (I'm sure most of you know that's the secret to a good blade job, since it thins the blood and makes it pour).
Best one I ever saw was a New Jack/Baldies match where Jack digs so deep whichever one it was runs out of blood in that vein and WHITE STUFF starts pouring out. It's hideous, in a beautiful sort of way.
Oh right, and let's not forget Mass Transit.

That's one of the reasons why the NWA in the 80's was such a beloved organization. Besides the obvious guys: Flair, Dusty, Abdullah, Wahoo, Boogie Woogie Man, etc.; here are a few other great bleeders: Bobby Jaggers in his feud with the Sheepherders. Actually, almost anyone who wrestled the Sheepherders before Vince neutered them as the Bushwhackers would bleed. Kerry Von Erich in the AWA Title match against Lawler hit a nice vein. Muta. Hell, if you name the blading range off of him, you have to at least mention him.

And I've seen (and used) El Dandy's name attached to a bleeding scale, so he's another choice. I can still recall how the Santo mask turned pink in the hair/mask match in '96.

Oh my GOD that's the truth. There's an old UWF match between the Sheepherders and Ace against the Fabulous Ones and Terry Taylor in a barbed wire cage. By the end of it you honestly can't tell one wrestler from the other (and when you can't tell Butch from Bobby Fulton you're talking GALLONS of crimson).

Seriously, the guy took 5 punches off a hot tag to Marty Jannetty and he he gigged himself off THAT. But then again I think everyone ELSE in that match was bleeding by that point so he was just joining in.

Although in all fairness the Fabs and the Sheepherders had a pretty similar feud in Florida.
There was a match at the Miami show where they all gigged like motherfuckers. as well. Even a young Johnny Ace (who was the "flagbearer" for the Sheeps at the time) got in on the blade fun IIRC.

As the "Natural" back in early 1990s he'd get busted open regularly, and the blond hair able to turn crimson is always an advantage... I still remember his feud with Bunkhouse Buck (wow remember him!) and that feud actually entertained me big time. Yes I was a big Natural Dustin Rhodes fan back in the day. I used to sing his song in my head "He's the natural naaaaaturaal" ahh I say too much.

Austin's another good bleeder, especially after he went Stone Cold - the bald head makes for good blood. Hell, his most famous image is his grimace while covered in blood.

He hit himself with his opened hand on the side of the head and he started bleeding bad..during a promo!!! You know you have too little skin on your forehead when a little slapping it opens up a vein.
other good bleeding: Taker in HITC vs Brock. Shawn and Vince recently. And how about freakin CACTUS JACK?!!! Does anybody not have those shots from the king of the deathmatch tournament etched into their brain?
Triple H has had some good ones too I believe? I am sure most wrestlers have done a sick bladejob at one point in their career. Some however are just that damn good at it.

Actually for Windham, the best place to go is earlier in his career in Florida when he was the Yellow Dog (notice, in Florida, Yellow Dog and Midnight Rider were good ideas. Then when Dusty went back to the well with them a second time, they became hated. Off topic, but interesting) in his feud with Ron Bass, and by the end of one of their matches, he could have passed for the Red Dog with all the blood covering him.

| #18 Posted on 28.12.03 1006.07 | We had a lot of sick bleeding the last year of so, namely from the three in the first post mentioned (HBK, Flair, Vince). Those guys really bled in their matches when they bladed. Taker during his match with Brock in HITC long ago bled quite a bit though.
I remembered long ago someone told me about a Muta 1.0 bladejob. I'm surprised the Great Muta hasn't been mentioned in this thread much, seeing how that guy bled a *lot*. |
