Having a sense of humor doesn't win you championships. I submit Belichick as an example.

This is a cute way to garner a little bit of interest, but in the long run it's extremely pointless. Even if he is "over" with the fanbase, he still has to get over with the talent and that's where I think he'll struggle.

If you want the same player Seattle is hinting at taking, and they give the hint with enough time for you to do a trade and move up ahead of them, I could see that happening. Depends how badly you want that player and what kind of deal you can swing.

If it's no big deal at all, then why doesn't every team just honestly say who they want to draft each year, instead of the lies and misinformation we get now?

I do think a lot of years the #1 pick is signed the night before the draft even takes place. Plus I'd think teams would wait til the last second to see if any desperate teams give them a sweet deal for the pick. And you'd get into situations where a team would lie about the player they want to get a good offer on their pick. It's just not worth the effort.

I like how the two have to be mutually exclusive.

They also generally announce that sort of thing beforehand, and I can't recall St. Louis signing anyone for the #1 pick. Besides, I believe the Rams released a statement saying they wouldn't be signing Sam Bradford before the draft, so that either means they've signed someone else (bloody unlikely) or if they take Bradford, they won't have him under contract at 7:30 PM (7:31's another story).

If I am not mistaken, they had Orlando Pace signed before the draft the year he was the number one pick. I think they just announced that in case somebody came up with a trade that was too good to pass up.

They don't have to be exclusive, and having a sense of humor or not really doesn't matter in the long run. I just don't think that a carefree attitude is what the Seahawks need.

THANK YOU. Honestly, why is/was this one little point so hard to grasp?

On another note, I think the reason St. Louis didn't sign Sam Bradford before the draft is because they were waiting for last-second trades from other teams who wanted that spot.

Also, the Ram's ownership situation being up in the air affects things.

I'd be kind of irritated if the braintrust of my team was wasting time tweeting in the war room.

Eagles playing garbage QB's go to San Fran and blow out the 49er's. Giants lose to an expansion team. Colts blow out the Eagles with McNabb on the road, and win in the snow in Denver at night.
