As I've tuned into smackdown these recent weeks I can't help but wonder if they're building toward eddie guerrero going for a "triple crown" of titles, at Survivor Series. I'm sure someone else mentioned this on another thread but I figured a good general opinion would be good.

The WWE seem to have a lot of faith in Guerrero(about time) and he's getting the loudest cheers of the night. You think this'll take him to the main event?

I do not think Eddie is next to be pushed into the smackdown main event spot yet (basically only 4 men), i know he is mad over, but so is booker t on raw, yet he did get the match at the biggest event of the year, he didn't come close to the gold, and they jobbed triple h to him so many times, only for triple h to bury him at wrestlemania. it would be refreshing to see eddie get the gold, but i don't think wwe will ever wake up, but you never know.

Go ahead, do it
You have sexual needs (needs), desires (desires)
You want to, you need to, do it for you
When was the last time you did something, for you? (indulge)
We all know this is a physical thing, it's not like you're going to leave your wife (physical)
Look at it this way, it will make your relationship stronger in the end
What she doesn't know, wont hurt her (bliss)
You'll apprecriate your wife more (appreciation)
You play your cards right, you might even learn a few things (A+)
And believe me, your wife will thank you later (thanks)
I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know.

Well, that's not quite fair. They've shown faith in him a number of times, only to have injuries and substance abuse make them scrabble to change plans.

If anything, they took a chance on re-hiring him in the first place, and it's worked out for everyone that they did. Look at how many other former stars we've seen 'come back' only to be in worse condition/motivation than we could possible imagine.

I think that it would totally kick ass if Eddie were elevated to the main event level. I think that they should put the belt on Benoit in December and have Eddie win the Royal Rumble, and then build up for two months for a great face/face showdown in which Eddie takes it. It'd be awesome, but I'm fairly certain in won't happen. In fact, I think that the fact that Eddie has two belts is a good indicator of that. I think that they're trying to throw the numerous Eddie fans a bone by saying, "Look, we rewarded him with two belts", instead of rewarding him with the big one. That's a shame.

The reason the WWE doesn't do stuff like that is because that would just end up with a .43 buyrate for WM20, plus the fact that ratings leading up to it would be around 1.2 or so. Neither guy can carry a show yet. Eddie's getting there, but it'll all depend on how he does over the next few months.

Shit, I hope the WWE throws me a bone by giving me EIGHT belts at once to show how little they think of ME!

I just wanna go on the record as saying I completely disagree. Not only is Eddie a performer capable of having a great show with any wrestler, but he's solid on the mic, capable of playing to the crowd no matter which side he's on and he has been given the great boons of a hot gimmick, the leeway to cheat while playing the face AND he's got a great prop in the lowriders. He even has a scheming valet.

If the WWE were to take advantage of thic combination for the main event, it could very well sell like hotcakes to workrate freaks like us to casual watch-it-in-a-bar fans. Eddie is a talented spectacle with momentum. That's perfect main event stuff. Is he too small? Only if we ignore Shawn, Bret, Flair and Angle.

Eddie as champ means he can get righteously pissed and brawl with challengers or play the weasel and retain by masterful cheating. Anyone can play against that for the stoyrlines no matter what level of skill they have: massive bullies, technical masters, garish faces, established superstars, and young underdog studs.

Eddie as a main eventer (which is not necessarily the world champ; he could be a regular contender) seems like a no-lose scenario. The iron is hot; now's the time to use it.

I am very pro-Book, but at no point has Booker ever been over as Eddy is right now. I don't remember Booker getting the pop of the night on RAW ever. Flair gets a better face reaction just standing around looking like Triple H has had him replaced with an identical android.

Hey it's the Steve Austin theme music thread! I loved Heel Austin's Alliance music, the fast metal one done by Zakk Wylde. The one with the crickets in the middle. That was awesome. Heel Austin was pure gold.
