As I have yapping about all summer long, Zack Greinke won the Cy Young award today. Many thanks to Joe Posnanski, Rob Neyer and many others who kept touting young Zack!

Halfway there...now just give that other award to Joe Mauer and I'll sleep well this winter. Looking forward to 2010 when he can finally get that career W/L% above .500!

Tough loss for The King. Amazing that Greinke made it a whole season without having to pitch to the Yankees.

If he had pitched for a major league team, he could have won 22-24 games. It's nice to see a guy recognized for excellence on a team that didn't sniff the play offs. Plus with the emotional issues he has overcome, good for him.

Not-so-bold prediction: Greinke goes to a contender before next year's trade deadline.

Maybe. Remember he is the one draw the Royals have as a team and he has a cheap contract.

As someone (probably Poz) pointed out, he also didn't have the luxury of facing the Royals.

I don't see it. He doesn't like the spotlight at all. He even said upon winning the Cy Young Award that he's afraid people will start to say "hi" to him in and around Orlando, where he lives. Nope, I don't see him leaving KC.

Plus, the best move the Royals made in the last 10 years was signing Grienke to an extension before last season. He'll be a bargain thru '12. Maybe that's the year they move him, if they're still lost and poor, but it'd take an incredible deal for it to be worth it to move Zach the next two years.

I don't currently have another trip to Milwaukee scheduled until after the season this year - My last trip: All star week - but I did get to go to the opening of the Harley Museum. A bit of a letdown there.
