Nicholas Brendan (Xander in Buffy) is rumoured for the lead in the Green Lantern film. I know this is a touchy subject for some, but I think he might do a good job of it.

The new kid?

That other guy?

The dude with the red skin?

That weird alien looking one?

I'm assuming he'd be Kyle, since much of Kyle's personality is being a wise-acre and self-deparcating.

Come on now. You really can't be that dense. Hollywood's going to make a movie about "That wierd alien looking one" Green Lantern? You really think? Boy, that would get 'em packing into theaters, wouldn't it? I'm suprised you didn't suggest "The Black Guy" while you were at it.

Obviously, they're either going to focus on Hal Jordan or Kyle Rayner (I think he's who you meant by "The new kid," though "That other guy" is also pretty nondescript.)

Maybe they'll follow this up with a Green ARROW movie!

Which one will it be?

The gay Robin Hood look-alike

OR

The gay Robin Hood look-alike that Hal Jordan resurrected?

I'm on the edge of my seat!

Read another rumour of Bruce Campbell, presumably as Hal, so Brendan would by Kyle Rayner.

I dunno. If "the black guy" was, oh, Denzel Washington, I think a few people might buy some tickets.

Nick Brendan would be PERFECT for the Kyle Rayner role, though I'd expect that Hal Jordan would have to be played by a slightly bigger name. I know that his history in superhero movies isn't good, but what about George Clooney?

There's a simple way to do a Green Lantern movie. Do two. First movie would have, say, uh...Matt Damon or somebody big as Hal Jordan, the screw-up air force test pilot who happens to spot a crash-landing alien ship, stop by, and is given a power ring. Of course, crazy evil power ring guy Sinestro comes to Earth looking for the ring and tangles with Hal Jordan. So, Jordan dons the ring in a last-ditch effort to protect the Earth as...THE GREEN LANTERN.

And the second movie? Emerald Twilight. While Hal's off saving the universe at the behest of the Guardians of the Universe, somebody blows the shit out of Coast City, Hal's hometown. When Hal finds out, he begs the Guardians to fix things...but they refuse. It's against their policy. So, Hal freaks out and goes on a killing spree of Green Lanters to amass enough rings to fix things himself. So, the leader of the Guardians hightails it to Earth and gives the ultimate ring [no weaknesses] to the first person he comes upon: Kyle Rayner. So, Rayner has to learn his shit and learn it fast, or else Hal'll destroy the world!

First, since when is Hal Jordan a "screw-up test pilot?" Are we talking stupid alcoholic, grey-temple Hal Jordan? No thanks. Let's have, no fear, all-willpower Hal.

Vs. Sinestro? No problem, and throw in Weaponers of Qward.

No fear Hal would rock my socks off...but usually Hollywood likes to make characters what they think are "belieable" and "grounded" by giving them bizarre personal problems that we're supposed to relate to.

no, not dense, just a marvel zombie at one time...

got all my GL knowlege from the superfriends cartoon and the DC RPG that i played a few times WAY back in the day...

i know there was Hal, the new kid that DC put in when they relaunched GL and Green Arrow, and some other guy...

like i said, i was a big time marvel zombie...

Now all they have to do is sign David Arquette as Guy Gardner and I'd go to the theatres like 40 times to see this.
