In WWE's defense in not having anything from Mexico:
- his stuff in Monterrey was probably not taped - CMLL is incredibly tough to deal with - CMLL probably doesn't have any, if any, of it's old TV. (Monterrey surely has none.) They may still be taping over old tapes into the 2000s.
On Justin's fictional DVD, maybe they can call a tape dealer and add
CMLL Champions of Champions match Corazon de Leon vs Último Dragón vs Felino vs Negro Casas vs Bestia Salvaje vs El Dandy Arena Mexico, 03/03/1995
Heh, I was IN that crowd. Floor seats opposite the stage, ten rows back. Yeah, that was a loud pop.
I may have to put Jericho on my husband's Christmas list (he got HBK for his birthday in April.) Too bad about his missing Mexican work, but lucha libre wasn't televised at all until the early '90s, is that right?
Originally posted by ekedolphinIs this the first time they've put Chris Jericho's (quickly overturned) WWF Championship win over Triple H on a DVD? I certainly haven't heard it referred to in many, many years.
(The fact that his title reign was overturned irked me considerably until he eventually became Undisputed Champion).
It's also on the Best of RAW 15 th Anniversary DVD (in full).
Therefore I would have liked the Fully Loaded match even more, but as far as importance is concerned, the one Jericho chose for his DVD is the better choice.
Ohhh, so want this DVD. I could live with there being no Benoit because we all knew it would not be on there. That and I have all the WWE PPVs so I can at least watch the PPV matches they had. And I think somewhere I have a tape of the Super J Cup. But still that is an impressive list. And the promos themselves.
I'll admit I'm very much a WWF/WWE guy never really watched much or any of WCW, and never ordered any WCW PPVs, but the consipricy victim stuff was good stuff, as that was the few segments I do remember catching if I stayed up late enough to watch Nitro (TSN aired RAW live then aired Nitro at midnight back then)
When WWFE bought WCW & ECW's (and a couple other smaller feds?) tape libraries in the early 2000's, Chris Jericho was the main example brought up over and over when people discussed how Vince could put out a DVD of someone's whole career retrospective, showing footage of "all" of the places he's worked.
I wonder why it took them this long to finally get his "full" career retro DVD out?
It should make for a nice bit of focus on the X-division one year from now (assuming they still remember) as it means that people will want to be the champ, just so they can get a shot at the HW championship. That ending..that's just horrible.
