Apparently, Bruce Springsteen and Eminem will dominate this year's awards. I think that's the first time I've ever used those two names in the same sentence. However, I suppose Norah Jones and Avril will get a bone or two thrown their way. There's a good joke in there somewhere...
Ah, the Grammys are crap anyway. Still, it's interesting to see what qualifies as "good" crap these days.

The WWE could put on 2 hours of Kevin Kelly sitting on the toilet reading a phone book, and I'd still watch next week.

I'm pissed that the Neptunes didn't get a nomination for Producer of the Year.

Anyway, I like both Norah and Avril, but I think Norah will win Best New Artist.

I concur. These things get to be more of a joke every year.

Thank God the good name of Rock & Roll hasn't been sullied by Avril "I'm Deep!" Lavigne's rambling songs. Oh, I'm sorry...she thinks she's an "artist". Well, sister, so does everyone else in the Pop category. Don't worry, though, 'cause Bruce Springsteen will keep all the awards company.

And it's sad because The Rising is completely trite.

Oh well, at least DMB got a nomination.

Oh wait, it was for a not-so-good song. Well, damn.

Since when have they given away a "Artist who will probably sell this award for more money to spend at Hot Topic" grammy ?

Thats the only award I can see Avril Lavigne nominated for.

The only thing I'm looking forward to at the Grammys is a live performance from The Boss. Other than that, the show is generally too crammed-"we need to get a bluegrass/classical/hip-hop segment out there in the next 10 minutes!"

"Best New Artist" = "Kiss of Death"
The Grammys bore the hell out of me, but then again, so do most award shows.

And to add a little bit on the Avril thing:

I saw the nominations and she pronounced David Bowie, David Bow-ee.

If you consider yourself a "serious" rock/pop artist, how in the blue hell do you not know who David freakin' Bowie is?

This is right up there with Britney Spears not knowing who John Lennon is.

EDIT:: Ok,it was Yoko but it was still bad and I still doubt she knows who John Lennon is.

I thought that was funny, she's 18 years old, I guess Bowie isn't that relevant to her. However, I heard on the radio this morning that in Britain, everyone consistently says "Bow-ie"(rhyming with ow), so who knows, maybe we've been getting it wrong all these years.

Happy birthday Bowie and Elvis!

Well i'm 19 and I know who David Bowie is, so the age thing doesn't mean much to me. But with a song named "Skater Boi" on her album I don't expect her to know much about real music.

And has anyone wondered if her real name is April and she just changed to to Avril to be "different".

I watch the Grammy's to see the ridiculous clothes - the awards are completely irrelevant and have been for quite some time - even before Bonnie Raitt won for best R&B album

First off, I've always said Bowie as in, well, Bo-wee. That's how I've heard it.

And in an interview with Rolling Stone, she claimed to have never bought a CD. She gets any CD she could possibly want for free from her label. Twat. Oh, and I wonder what people would think of her if they saw her opening for Shania Twain... or at least her image.

LOL Jason I noticed that as well.

Nelly being one of the top 5 candidate for Record and Album, is just beyond sickening.

I don't understand how Avril and Sheryl Crow and so many others in multiple categories (ie Pop, Rock). I guess you have to do that when you play only push a dozen artists at a time.

Rap and majority of rock sucks, it's a sad day when Best
Dance recording is the most interesting out of all. Daniel Bedingfield, Dirty Vegas, Groove Armada, Kylie, and No Doubt. The only one out of this group that I hate is Groove Armanda. That Dirty Vegas song "Days go by" was one of my favourite songs of the summer, catchy little tune.

Didn't Oasis release a pretty solid album this year, I don't think they were nominated for anything, man do the Grammys suck.

Even sadder - I think it's intentionally misspelled "Sk8er Boi" or some crap like that. "She's punk! She's rock! Oh, wait, that's right - she's neither."

I haven't watched the Grammys in years, but I noticed while flipping by Access Hollywood the other day that there is now a "Best Rap/Sung Collaberation" grammy. Did they invent that award for Gwen Stefani or something? Lame.

But if we're going to have that category, I submit "Deadly Games" from the WWE Anthology. It may not be new, but it's never been released on cd before 2002. And it's such a bastion of retardedness, it deserves a freakin' award.

There was a nomination that has something to do with WWE. Rob Zombie's "Never Gonna Stop" (Edge's theme) was nominated for best Hard Rock or metal song.

Also, WWE Anthology is inelgible for a Grammy because it was released after the Grammy deadline. It would have to be nominated next year.
