Yeah, this won't piss anyone off. (getjuiced.com)

Everyone's favorite psycho killer, OJ Simpson, is back in the 'spotlight' with a new DVD... called JUICED. It's a CANDID CAMERA/PUNK'D type program where OJ goes around pulling pranks on unsuspecting Los Angeles area citizens.

In, perhaps, the WORST idea since 'Greedo shot first.',one segment features OJ trying to sell a white Ford Bronco by saying he used it to escape the police in.

Even worse then the idea of this show, is the fact that OJ is claiming to not having gotten paid for doing this. Sure, he's probably lying out of his ass, but think about it... this WILL make money. That money will go to SOMEONE... someone NOT named Goldman, obviously, thanks to 'OJ not getting paid to do this.', which screws the family he ruined, by killing their son.

I'm hoping this turns up a Hollywood Video or Blockbuster, because while I'll certainly not buy it, I feel I need to see it for at least the people's reactions to having a murderer pull a prank on them. Those reactions should be ALMOST as funny as Chris finding out he was voted out on AMERICAN IDOL, which was rather priceless.

It's been over ten years fellas. Get over it.

Will I watch it? No. But I won't be pissed when Robert Blake tries to salvage a living post-acquittal either, and neither should you.

From what I understand, even if he DID get paid for it, the laws in Florida don't require him to give one red cent to the Goldmans. So if that's true, regardless of whether he's getting paid, he wouldn't be lying just to keep money from them.

    Tastelessness has no expiration date.

Now which is the tasteless part: him beating the system or him (allegedly) killing two people? I'm pretty sure the "get over it" comment was directed at people that still can't cope with OJ beating the system. It's been 10 years. Celebrities often get away with anything they like. Such is our society.

It's not an either/or thing. It was one act. This wasn't like he was speeding and got away with it by signing an autograph. It's still tasteless because he beat the system WHILE killing two people.

Easy, big fella. Allow me to apologize if you're in the Goldman or Brown family. I've never been through something like that, and I was not telling the families of the victims how to feel. Of course, you know that, but you needed to take me out of context to make me seem like a heartless bastard. Nice of StingArmy to point out what I meant.

Look, people get away with murder all the time. Al Capone was put away for tax evasion. I already mentioned Robert Blake; no one seems upset about him. I don't know about you, but I suspect at least some of the people who can't get over this have difficulty doing so because OJ was black and killed white people. Regardless of your motivations, unless you knew the victims, or OJ moves in next door and starts dating your aunt, I cannot understand why you can't just ignore him. I cannot understand why I have to keep hearing about it, and about the race card, and about how my people must be ashamed of him, and how he's just as bad as Bundy, Gacy, and Dahmer (give me a fucking break).

I just want to know why this is the sole injustice in this society that people seem to keep talking about, though I've already told why I think it is.

I recognize the hyperbole, but this is hardly the sole injustic people talk about in society (at least in my social circle). And, OJ is a subject that never comes up (at least in my social circle, your mileage may vary). I didn't even know about this video until I saw it here. I will say that it's a shame people feel the need to play the race card on this. OJ is a murderer who beat the system; race simply does should not matter. Personally, I hate that it does.

The bottom line is that he's using the infamy of the murder trial in this video. I think people would be outraged if Dahmer had made some PPV where he pretended to eat freshly butchered human flesh. But, maybe that's just me.

Lastly, you can't compare OJ to Blake (or even Dahmer, Gacy, Bundy, etc.). Prior to 9/11, this was the seminal event of the previous 20 (or so) years, with round the clock coverage. I'd guess that most everyone on this board remembers the white Bronco, and definitely remembers exactly where they were when the OJ verdict was announced, and they also remember the reaction to that verdict. Moreoever, there is the 'if the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit' line. Unless someone was a family member of a victim, on the jury, or part of the case as a judge/lawyer/etc., I doubt anyone remembers any part of the Blake trial, or any of the other murderers listed. Again, with the obvious exception of 9/11, I can't remember anything in my lifetime that comes close to rivaling the attention generated by the OJ trial; it was the news story for months.

errrm.... OJ who?

Seriously, if this sells, it's just another example of people's obsession with celebrity. Some people will buy some of the sorriest things just because someone "famous" has their name associated with it. It doesn't matter why that person is famous. Oh, sure, there was that football thing OJ did, but really, who cares? He will forever be MORE famous for his actions related to the murder & subsequent trial.-- And that is the celebrity that he's exploiting, too. I would probably feel different if he tried to exploit his athletic celebrity, but I don't see it happening. Whatever.

OTOH, if this falls flat, I will be just a little prouder of the human race.

Is that really the same, though? The white Bronco is infamous because of the car chase prior to his arrest. It was the most bizarre thing I've ever seen (and probably ever WILL see) on television. It has nothing to do with the murders themselves. It's not like OJ is pretending to sell knives or bloody gloves on the DVD. Now THAT would be tasteless.

I'd guess that most everyone on this board remembers the white Bronco, and definitely remembers exactly where they were when the OJ verdict was announced, and they also remember the reaction to that verdict.

Any idea WHY it was such a big deal? Perhaps because everyone and his brother had an opinion on his guilt or innocence? Not just any old opinion - a STRONG opinion, and an opinion that usually followed race lines. It divided the country. As sad as it may seem, I'm willing to bet the farm that if Robert Blake's wife was a minority, his case, and the uproar following his acquittal, would have been almost as big as with OJ.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow

I took nothing out of context. He's cracking wise about a car chase associated with two murders and the fact that that offends someone was met with you with a "get over it."

StingArmy made a point, you just shrugged off anyone's indignation. There's a difference.

No chance. Blake had nowhere near the star power nor the reputation as OJ at that time. Not even close. At the time of the murder, Blake was a has been, B-list actor. OJ was still a top NFL commentator and his acting career was still going strong. Blake's case started in 2001. Between 1985 and 2001, he had a total of three credits, according to imdb.com. No comparison in name recognition, accomplishments or general fame.

Man, I kinda feel bad for Gulf War Mk.1 and the fall of the Berlin Wall...

Point well taken; I should have been more specific. I wasn't referring to socio-political importance. I'm talking about the absolute shock and the 'I remember exactly where I was when x happened' type incident. I don't remember where I was when the Berlin Wall fell, but I do remember exactly where I was when the Bronco chase happened and the OJ verdict was delivered. I'd wager that the vast majority of Americans (at least in my age group) would agree. The first Gulf War in no way belongs in the same category as the Berlin Wall falling.

While he may not have been acting regularly, he did win an Emmy for his role in Baretta. Not exactly B list credentials.

And, OJ wasnt in ANYTHING that didnt star Leslie Neilson, so it isnt like he was doing Othello at Shakespear in the Round in Central Park of anything.

I don't remember Leslie Neilson anywhere around when OJ was jumping over luggage in airports.

Nor was he in THE TOWERING INFERNO, CAPRICORN ONE, or ROOTS, as I remember it.

I will conceed that TOWERING INFERNO is a far cry from Shakespear.
