Last Saturday night, I saw the brand-new Eddie DVD at WalMart, I didn't think this was supposed to be out until later in the month. Of course, I picked it up. 19.00 was a good deal for both discs. They had Benoit for 19.00 there too. The documentary is very well done, and the match extras are great. There's alternate commentary on the ECW match, Halloween havoc, and the RVD Ladder match. There's some great hidden features on there too, so far I've found these:
Double left click on AWA SuperClash III, and it shows a pretty funny interview with Gene Okerlund and Hector about the Gobbeldy Gooker.
Double left click on ECW Malenko/Guerrero and it shows a pretty long ECW package hyping up the Malenko/Guerrero showdown.
Double left click on Survivor Series 2002 and there's a promo video for the Tag Tournament.
Double left click on No Way Out and there's a hype video for the Lesnar match.
Double left Click on Fighting For Honor and Eddie talks about his first match.
Double left click on Injury and Eddie talks about his tattoo.
All of the Los Guerreros promos are on there. Fun stuff.
More extras: Eddie's mom has a heart attack From Confidential: Behind the scene YJ Stinger YJ Stinger in English and Spanish Behind The Scenes low Rider magazine Outside The Ropes Eddie Guerrero Celebration Special extras: Gory Guerrero Eddie vs The Monkey Moonsault Fighting For Honor Injury Los Guerreros WrestleMania XX
It's also got 3 music videos on it, which I'm confused as to why they added. There's no WWE footage on any of them. The videos are Finger Eleven's "One Thing", Seether's "Gasoline", and Soil's "Redefine". There's also a trailer for Day Of Reckoning. I wish they would have put another match on instead of these.
Spanish audio is available on all features.
This is a must-have DVD with some great matches and a ton of extras.
The Michaels DVD, not as much so. It's one of those specially priced Coliseum video re-releases. I bought it at FYE for 7.99. They also had a History Of WrestleMania I-IX, which I passed on. The video is hosted by Dok Hendrix and covers HBK's title defenses of 1996. Buyer beware: MATCHES ARE CLIPPED. It's got Iron man vs Hart, NHB vs Diesel, Beware of Dog vs Bulldog and KOTR vs Bulldog, SummerSlam vs Vader, Mind Games vs Foley, and Survivor Series and Rumble 97 vs Sid. Some good stuff, unfortunately the clipping of the matches really hinders this DVD. For only 8 bucks, I can say it's a recommended buy for nostalgia purposes, just don't expect to see full matches. No hidden features.
Thanks for the tips on the Eddie DVD, I got mine last Sunday at Walmart for the same price, they did have the HBK one for $5.00. HBK is very WWF 90s campy but the matches are good considering I never thought I'd see the Sid/HBK MSG match. It takes something for Vince to break kaybae in the 90s.
The Eddie DVD is awesome and I think it might be better than Benoit's DVD. I do disagree that they put Eddie's mom heart attack as the last thing. It just seemed unnecessary and wrong much like the angle itself and espically the way it ended.
I just picked up the Eddie DVD myself. Wal*Mart is my streetdate-breakin' friend. =D I hadn't caught the "Cheating Death, Stealing Life" special on UPN before, so I was glad I got a chance to watch it. It's a really good show and it makes me hope that Eddie can keep clean and live a long and happy life.
I'm loving the extras, but wasn't the Eddie/RVD ladder match the one where the fan ran in and knocked the ladder over? I think they edited that part out...
EDIT: ...And on a second viewing, yes, they did edit that part out. They show Eddie start to climb the ladder and then switch to close ups of Chris Benoit, who is sitting in the crowd, and RVD, who is unconscious on the mat, and suddenly Eddie is back on ground standing in the corner of the ring while the whole crowd stands and looks off the right of the screen.

For those who haven't gotten the DVD already from Wal-Mart, I'd suggest checking out DeepDiscountDVD.com. They have the DVD there for $16.17 and free shipping. Not a bad deal if you don't mind waiting a few extra days and don't have to get it the day it comes out. It's how I plan on getting mine. There's also a bunch of other cheap WWE DVDs there, as well. All with free shipping.
Odd that they would edit out the fan run-in, considering that, when they did a special feature on the match on Confidential, they talked a lot about it. Plus, isn't there and alternate commentary with Eddie and Van Dam for that match? You'd think they'd have something to say about it.
Well, I got the DVD yesterday. However, I have no time to watch it until the weekend.
The answer to WWE's financial problems...
Never 'Wiener of the Day', and is actually quite bitter about it.
Over at http://www.wwe.com/, there is a story about the press conference about the million dollar giveaway at the Hard Rock in Times Square. Correct me of I'm wrong, but isn't that where WWF New York was located?
