| #1 Posted on 13.9.02 1026.27 | With all the posting about the Bush daughters (Jeb's and W's) I find it worth noting that Gore's son was caught speeding and driving drunk. Did he get charged with anything? Of course not! He got busted once before for going 97 in a 55 and got slapped on the wrist with a 125 dollar fine. Having a rich/powerful father sure does help.

Not condoning anything, mind you, just making sure you give the real facts.

| #3 Posted on 13.9.02 1145.06 | Thanks for pointing that out..... changed my post. Personally, I am a right-winger, but I don't think Gore or Bush's kids should get any better treatment that you or I, but that's life.

Getting a first-offense speeding ticket knocked down to a moderate fine isn't all that difficult -- I'm sure many of us know people who've had that happen. It's not uncommon for deals to be struck just to speed the case along and avoid a court battle, even when we mere mortals are the defendants.
Rich and powerful family connections rarely HURT in cases like these, of course.

| #6 Posted on 13.9.02 1600.32 | Yes - I know my share of highway patrolmen (and have run into my share) who are loathe to give someone a 15 MPH+ speeding ticket to someone from out of town or someone who's never had a ticket before, just to avoid traffic court dates being set for someone who likely couldn't make it.
But yeah, the rich kids like this are piles of shit - they really need their asses beat.
