We'll see how this plays out. Regardless, through this one threat, a multi-national corporation has put more pressure on Chinese authorities about human rights and censorship than any of the liberal democracies (no matter the political party in power).

Too bad they only did it because their business was hurt, as opposed to doing it for "the right reasons," from the get go. We'll see if either side actually changes from this - I'd LOVE to see it happen, but I'm not holding my breath either.

So, just declining it in the first place vs. establishing a foothold then backing out. Looking into a crystal ball, which avenue will end up having the greater long-term impact? I say, being in there & then having to pull out, for cause, is the far more impactful & longer-reaching course.

I guess I'm jaded enough to care less about motive than results. At least in the corporate & political worlds.

Pat Robertson is a clown, and if the government took away his tax exempt status, I'd lose no sleep over it. Of course, has anyone checked on the Rev Jesse Jackson's tax status?
