No, you're not seeing things - the Google search page is using a larger font.

http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/09/now-s-u-p-e-r-sized.html

http://www.google.com/

You old folks may not even need your reading glasses now!

(I have to admit I DID think I'd resized the page when I wasn't paying attention and hit Command-0 a few times.)

This has led to the inevitable rush of searches to figure out just what's going on. Only G can make such a small change and create such a large reaction.

The change is effective in Safari 4.0.3 Mac but I don't see it yet in Firefox 3.5.2 Mac. That's strange.

Must be your cache. I definitely have it here. (Also, a few hours ago I even got the 3.5.3 update!)

Cleared my browser cache, still nothing.

Google.ca and google.co.uk do reflect the change, though.

I'm also seeing the larger font on Google.ca but not on Google.com.

OK, here's my new theory:

It's in the process being rolled out to their hundreds of machines answering at google.com, but you're still hitting an unchanged one. (I think I may be hitting one of those at work, actually, now that I double check.)

I tried with some IPs and confirmed this. As of noon CDT, http://64.233.169.103/ (for example) still has the old one but http://64.233.169.100/ (for example) has the new one.

Check that - HAD the old one.

Check that again! Right now, I can reload with the same IP (64.233.169.103) and switch between old and new. Weird.

Now it's kinda random but more often big.

Now they're probably wishing I'd stop reloading their page so much. :)
