According to 411, Vince is really pleased with the way the Matt Hardy/Rey Mysterio feud has run and with Matt's contributions to the cruiserweight division in general, and to take Matt's recent jobs as a sign that Matt is on his way out of the cruiserweight division and is possibly in line for a big push as a heavyweight, possibly with the United States title.

As far as I'm concerned, this is GREAT news and I would have had Matt on the short list (with Cena) as the guy to kick off the division with...

I can't get the URL because 411 is down at the moment, but it's there... maybe someone can pull it over when 411 comes back up...

I saw the article this morning too. Original credit goes to the Torch.

it's good to hear that Matt's breaking out like that and impressing folks. Not sure if I mentioned this in my live Smackdown report a couple weeks ago, but after the match, when Rey was celebrating in the ring, I could clearly see Matt still standing at the "Gorilla position" and he was there for awhile clearly talking to some people. Usually it's Vince and sometimes J.R. and some other main agents at the table who are right there watching everything from the monitor. So maybe he was talking to Vince right then and there.

Hardy would be an awesome choice as the new US champ. Either he or Cena (or maybe Benoit or Rhyno) would be definite thumbs-up picks.

and you're working on something good
but if it's really good
you're gonna need a bigger room
and when you're in the bigger room
you might not know what to do
you might have to think of
how you got started in your little room

Give Matt the U.S. title and give John Cena another shot at the world title. That would make EVERYBODY happy!

But if that's not in the cards, I actually wouldn't rule out a Cena face turn and have him feud with Matt over the U.S. title. That has the potential to rule!

They're running out of main-event heels; I say give him a program with Brock, just for the hell of it. They've got an established history between them and there isn't anyone else drawing big bucks. Take a chance.

That could work as a side feud.

Matt's been squashed by Brock on a number of occasions, including as recently as WM. Since then he ain't had any notable wins so I cant see him being seen as a threat to Brock just now.

Give him a few months feuding over the US title to put him over as a threat in the heavyweight division, then they can think about having him main eventing.

Well I'll say this for him, every time Matt and Brock were on screen together I kept watching because of Matt. IMO I really don't hold alot of emotion for Brock, I haven't enjoyed him as a face. Hell I elicit more feeling during a A-train match or promo, I guess it's the thing about an unstoble hoss as a face that bugs me. As for Matt, I really started to enjoy him when he and Steven Richards wrestled each other just about every week on heat. I've allways been a Steven Richards mark, and that stems from him busting his ass with every gimmick and starting over with a new one after every injury.

I disagree...I thought the fans totally bought him as more than jobber fodder in their last meeting (champion vs. champion) and booed him loudly when he got on offense. Maybe he could use a series of big name wins in build-up.
