I have 50 Gmail account invites to give away to anybody who wants them. Just e-mail me bhanham@Gmail.com and I'll send you one.

It's looking like it. I also have 50 available. I had 6 that I couldn't get rid of before - why do they think I know 44 more people now?

Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.

I take it Gmail has given out a bunch more invites in addition to the initial 5 or so they gave out with each new sign-up? Is that a sign of desperation, or a (late) response to how hot these things were a few months ago?

They are probably moving out of Beta, but want to milk their networking for as much as they can. I'm sure they are doing some sort of family tree based on these invites as part of their research into social networks.

If that's the case, I wonder how they are going to account for the invites that were traded through Fark and other sites like that. That's how I got my original invite and how I got rid of 5 of my original 6 invites. Now, other than ignoring them, I have no clue as to what I'll do with 50 invites.

As an aside, one thing I really like about gmail is the almost nonexistent spam. I still get less spam in that account than in my private work account.
