The best part of the show in my opinioin is the interaction between Rory and Lorelai and with them not talking to each other the show is kind of boring. I'm glad they actually fought about something because them always getting along was pretty unrealistic, but if they drag this out all season it's going to suck.
And I hate Rory now, she was such and innocent sweet girl, now she's a slut and becoming a rich snob too.

But I think that Rory will go back to college and reunite with her mother. | PeterStork

The point has been made elsewhere of how Rory has gone from everyone's dream girl early in the series (pretty, shy, intelligent, etc.) to the girl everyone hated in college - rich (thanks to her grandparents and boyfriend,) unknowingly a little stuck up, snotty friends and boyfriend, etc. She really is a bitch now. Even if she does have nice bangs. Really nice bangs.
That said, the show has been strong this year, even with such little PARIS~! Having so little banter between the Lorelais (well, none at all actually) has made a nice change and Luke has filled in nicely for his future stepdaughter. Seeing how far they'll go with Rory-as-Emily is interesting as well.

In fact, the subtle build to Luke/Lorelai was my favorite part of the show.

You are totally right.
The Rory/Lorelai relationship was awesome but after 5 seasons, it was time for a change.
I'm pretty sure they will reunite at sometime in the series but now, I really like the way the show has been handle.
Rory always wanted to be a journalist and is ideal was crushed by Logan father. Now, she's in complete denial and can't get a grip on her life.
it's a new twist, it's a fresh start, brings new intrigues and rivalries; it's really good. |
