You have to mark a forum read to set a timestamp for us to use to tell you about new posts.
You ALSO have to have "Quick Links" enabled on your profile (The W) - I think our default is to show them, but you may have disabled them without having any idea that's what you were doing.

It seems I did. Wow, now things look different! So you read new posts by forum, not by thread. Interesting. Seems pretty good, actually. Thanks.
Is there a way to make the "(x new)" under the replies in each forum clickable so that it takes you to your 1st unread post in a thread? Or maybe making the "NEW" icon to the left of the thread title clickable to do it? Doing it from the main page is nice, but I don't want to read through replies to threads I'm not interested in.
Or would that be too much work for you (that is a legit. question, not a smart-assy question, please don't take offense)?

That doesn't sound like it'd be too hard.
EDIT: On the other hand...may I ask why you haven't set your profile to "Show New Posts Only?" Then, you could just click on the thread titles from the forum page.
