I didn't make any attempts until after I got home from work (1730h ADT) and I had no trouble getting it immediately (and quickly) for both Linux and Mac (for my wife). The Linux download was just to pad their stats, as I'll install it via OpenSuSE's packaging system later tonight.

For those who are using AdBlock, I recommend AdBlock Plus. I don't remember what the differences are, I just know I'm happier with it than I was with the vanilla version (could be the automagic filter sets).

I've been running the beta for a couple of weeks now. I love the rendering speed, the memory usage has improved significantly (under Linux, anyway), and useless as it is, the way it floats a whole image if you click and drag is pretty cool.

And if you're looking to tweak your Firefox, try typing "about:config" in your URL bar. You'll get a stern warning that you'll have to click through, but there's plenty of things to tweak, twiddle and frob. Those who don't like the double-line autocomplete might try switching "accessibility.typeaheadfind.linksonly" to "true"...

The new address bar is a tad annoying, especially for me, since I use the address bar for searching with Yubnub (deatils), but I like the feature based on its name alone. It's called the AwesomeBar.

What do you not like about the bookmarks? Just curious. I downloaded it today, its slightly different than the beta version. Runs smooth, and my bookmarks synched up really nicely.

When I drag bookmarks around to change the order they'll jump to different spots upon reload. It seems like a minor quibble, but in previous versions of FF it was not an issue. Now I'll drag Bookmark X three spots up so it's ahead of Bookmark Y and when I restart Firefox Bookmark Y will be ahead of Bookmark X.

It's not as bad as it was in the first betas, but it's still there.

WEll, luckily I dont have that problem. I did quickly delete the "most visited" think on the bookmark toolbar. I figure the ones I visit most are already there, why bother with a drop down menu filled with stuff I already have a link for.

New browser was not enough to get YouTube to stop freezing at the two second mark. I could probably research this problem on my own but I'm just going to throw it out here because we're tight.

Justin-

That was happening to me as well out of nowhere, but the upgrade seems to have fixed it for me.

On the other hand, some of the modules on My Yahoo page do not seem to be compatible with 3.0 yet...

Not having my Tab Mix Plus add-on keeps throwing me off; I can't go back to a world where everything I do (bookmarks, address bar) goes into the same tab as I am using, nor can I train myself to hold the alt button. Also, thanks TK for the oldbar extension; I grew tired of the two lines in about 0.0002 seconds.

Other than that, it feels like the same experience as before; not particularly faster, but still pleasant.

That could be a problem with Flash more than an issue with Firefox (or a combination of the two). I'd try reinstalling the Flash Plugin and seeing if anything changes. I might even un-install flash before reinstalling it.

Does this happen with any other browsers?

I think I am the only one here who actually likes the two-line history. I can accept that.

Read it and weap, fella

I never update anything right away (save for virus protection, etc). I'll wait until v3.0.2 or whatever.

My AdBlockPlus works perfectly in this upgrade, as does my weather forcaster...so I'm pleased.

I'm not having any problems with Youtube, Veoh, Dailymotion, or any other video site.

I put this on my fiancee's Windows 2000 computer, and it's running very well, too.

I've seen where disabling acceleration fixes some video problems, but I'm not sure. Right click on a video and edit the settings to see if that helps.

When it happens to me, I've found that just closing out Firefox and then restarting it solves the problem.

Glad I'm not alone on that minor issue. I figured it was just another sign that my computer is dying a slow, painful death.

The YouTube glitch happened again to me today, so I guess it is not a Firfox 2 vs 3 issue. The restart worked for me as well, but I really hope this issue is resolved as it is rather irritating.

As a further update, it seems Yahoo has addressed the bugs I encountered on My Yahoo page & the various modules, pop-ups, & intelligent search features have begun working as before.

So far not much else is noticeable as far as the upgrade. The browser seems to launch a bit faster (which is nice) & the interface is little cleaner and smaller (allowing for more usable screenspace--again nice).

Does this happen in other browsers, like maybe IE? Because the more I read about this, the more it sounds like it might be a problem with your ISP, or even your wireless (if applicable) to me. I know that when I've had poor connections, I've seen a similar thing happen on Youtube. Try this:

If you use a cablemodem and a router, bypass the router by plugging the cablemodem's network cable directly into your computer. After this, unplug the power from the cablemodem for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Be sure to disable the wireless connection within your operating system. At this point, try a Youtube video, and maybe run a speed test, then compare the results with your regular setup. This gets a bit trickier if you have DSL, since you have to use PPPoE to dial up to DSL. But if the issue persists when you're plugged straight into the modem, I'm guessing it's a line issue. Call your ISP and have them run an extended ping test on your line to see how many packets drop.

If you have a cable-company provided wireless router/cablemodem all-in-one unit, return it to the cable company, get your money back, get a standalone cablemodem, and go out to Best Buy and buy a Linksys WRT54g. Those all-in-one devices are junk, and they seemingly indiscriminately kill packets. Just for fun.

If you need any more help, feel free to PM me.

I couldn't really watch it, unfortunately, but the general feeling I saw on Twitter was that this was a vast improvement from last year's WWDC. Gizomodo has a nice round up of the features announced. HomeKit sounds VERY interesting...
