Today marks the two year anniversary of my gastric bypass operation.

It appears that the total off will be 225 pounds, as that is where I've plateaued. I can safely say that, despite early problems that took me out of action for three months, it was a success. And only continuing to eat correctly will keep it a success. My sig plots the progress of the weight loss since the surgery.

If you know of someone who is considering the surgery, I would be more than willing to correspond with them, and I won't hold back on the plusses and minuses. It's worked for me so far, but it doesn't work for everybody and it isn't a magic wand.

Congratulations. That's a very serious operation. I'm glad you've recovered so well *AND* that it has helped you toward your goals.

Awesome anniversary Eddie!

I'm 11mos out and down 135 myself. According to my last physical, everything has turned out great and my outlook is good. Hope to lose another 40-50 before all is said and done.

Good work Drew! Some food suggestions:

1- Sugar-free popsicles. They rule.

2- The smaller Chef Boyardee pasta pots.

3- South Beach Diet chocolate soy protein bars. NOT the cereal bars. The soy ones have no sugar.

4- Flour tortillas make good homemade pizza crusts, and you don't have the "styrofoam" like feeling of swallowing heavy bread. Use turkey pepperoni, all the taste, less grease and fat.

You will probably still have some days where your stomach turns against you. Remember it's only 11 months old!
