I spent the evening watching middle schoolers spell words on ABC. The Bee was oddly compelling in a way these game show remakes have not been.
We did at our house after about half way through LMAD. Rikki is remarkably dull in the host role and the Celebs (I speak of them loosely, except perhaps Neilson) have been boring and unexcited. Even Leslie, who kills me, was boring.
On the other hand, the kid who won the bee was awesome. Hands in her pockets - and the BIG GRIN for just an instant on the last word let me know that she had studied it.
Of course, this girl was no Rebecca Sealfon.

Did anybody else see Lake all but punch Paige's dog in the jaw while pushing the microphone at her? Not to mention the shaking that dog took while Paige was busy being the only celebrity to actually look excited.
I was impressed with the set and the music, though. Find a host who can fit the role and some contestants who are actually excited to be there and put it on the air.
But as we've seen so many times before, finding somebody to fill Monty Hall's shoes isn't exactly easily done. | | Pages: Prev 1 2
