| #1 Posted on 5.2.03 0814.59 | I played the demo version of this in Electronics Boutique yesterday. Oh. My. God. Any worries I had about the graphic style *completely* melted away. The game looks so beautiful in motion, it's unreal. The whole thing comes across like a completely interactive cartoon, and plays even smoother than the N64 Zelda games. (I still wish they gave Link a nose, but that's really a moot point.)
Also, if you reserve a copy after February 16th, you get a free CD containing "Ocarina of Time" and it's unreleased sequel for the never-made 64DD. (More of a classic Zelda "second quest" than an all-out sequel ala-"Majora's Mask".)

| #2 Posted on 5.2.03 0902.29 | At ebgames.com if you pre-order before the 16th, they'll ship that 'Cube port of OoT on the 16th for an extra five bucks. They offer to ship it with Wind Waker if you don't want the extra five dollar charge- but who wants to wait six weeks that could be used to play through Ocarina?
Of course, I guess what OFB is saying is that you can walk into a store, save yourself the five bucks and just grab the disc from them while pre-ordering Wind Waker.. If I hadn't preordered weeks ago, I'd be down for that deal... but you have to think supplies will be limited.

And since my old N64 has been exiled to the back of my closet, I'd have to say: As one of the people who preordered Wind Waker, that was a wise investment of 5 bucks.

| #4 Posted on 5.2.03 1513.16 | You know, I have never ACTUALLY pre-oredered a game before... Do they make you pay all at once? Or does it work like Blockbuster, where you plop down $5 and pay the rest when you pick it up? What is the schedules release date?

Five dollars down guarentees you a copy of the game when it is shipped.

| #6 Posted on 5.2.03 1708.24 | | Usually it's $5, you can put down more if you want, at the EB near me though you have to put down $15 if you want the disc. Probably so you don't have people just paying the $5 for the disc and not bothering to pay for the rest of the game when it comes out... | EddieBurkett

| #7 Posted on 5.2.03 1907.47 | I had heard about this offer previously, and this weekend, when I was in the mall, I just happened to be in EB when some kid was asking about it, and the next thing I know, I've got my credit card out to pre-order a game for the first time...
According to my EB, $15 down before 2/10 gets you the extra two games, which will be available starting 2/16.
And I don't know how Nintendo can go and so radically graphically update two of their biggest franchises, but damn if Metroid and Zelda ain't amazing now!
High tide for the time being. |
