So, Triple H is hurt? Good. He's going to work through the pain? Bad. I hate to be so callous but I can't wait until I can watch WWF and not see Triple H on my TV. At least the Hunter Hearst Helmsley Triple H. The REAL Triple H (Hollywood Hulk Hogan), however, is fine.
The biggest problem with Hunter being hurt is now instead of wrestling in sub-par matches he just cuts boring ass promos, has more backstage segments and wastes my time. I really can't wait for him to drop those belts to the likes of Taker or Angle or anybody but him. Why do I have to have Triple H wasting tv time on both shows?
And to be honest with you, I see Triple h as the weakest link on both shows, there isn't anyone but X-Pac I wouldn't root for against Triple H.
And as much as everyone hates on Taker and Nash, I can't help but like them more and more people bitch about them because frankly I think they're entertaining. Nash and Undertakers matches aren't great, but they're not ever as bad as I expect. And that bearhug maneuver of Nash's rules! Sure it takes two minutes, but look at those facial expressions!
Anyways, what I'm getting at is Triple H is trash. Sure he may be hero to millions, but I can't like a guy who hates on his Wrestlemania opponent for "not having it," when the only reason the feud slowed down was because a certain someone had their dog introduced into the storyline and the champ to a backseat to his ex-wife. So, here's a toast to the next WWF Unified Champ, whoever he may be!
Oh, and Triple H's mic skills? He ain't got nothin' on no bad Hardy and RVD promos! At least those are like train wrecks and I can't stop watching!

Triumph: I kid, I kid. I think Triple H is a great Wrestler! For-Ah! (pause looks around for crowd reaction) Me-Ah! (pause looks around for crowd reaction) To-Ah! Poop-Ah! ON!

It should be Chris Jericho, as he should not have lost the titles to Mr. Monopoly to begin with. But I won't go into that... *rolleyes*

Well here's a question then: Who do you think will be the person to take the titles from Triple H? Barring any heel turns, I only see two possibilities right now: Jericho and Angle.

I think HHH will hold the titles for a while, at least. Jericho won't take them back, much as I'd like to. The WWF just doesn't seem to have thought enough of their feud to really continue it. Kurt might be a good starting feud, but the first guy to feud with the champ after Wrestlemania pretty much never has a chance. Remember last year when Taker was canon fodder to heel Austin? The only time that -has- worked that I remember is Rock winning the belt from HHH at Backlash after Wrestlemania 2000, and that was different because HHH had -retained- the title at Wrestlemania, not won it there.

They're going to want to build HHH's face character with a strong title run. While you may not personally like him (I do), he's a proven draw, gets huge pops and he's doin' the boss' daughter. He's not going anywhere soon. King of the Ring is about the earliest I would expect it.

Here are the guys I can see taking it:

1) Undertaker - Give the Dead Man one more run and turn him face again while he has the title.

2) Benoit - Vince gets in Benoit's ear when he comes back, plus the Wolverine wants some revenge for his buddy Y2J.

3) Hogan *shudder* I can see them do a face-face rivalry thing. Wouldn't draw like Hogan-Rock did, but would probably still get some fan interest going. It would suck, but it could happen.

I'm hoping Kane is in line for the title sometime soon, but he and HHH are both firm faces at this point and I can't see either turning. Still, I think the Machine deserves a REAL title run soon.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Jericho regain the Unified World Title - but - somehow I see Angle being the one to dethrone him.

Plus it gives both the RAW and Smackdown crowds to sing "You Suck! What?" to his theme.
And I certainly don't want him turning heel anytime soon. As awesome as he was, the crowd just didn't want to boo him anymore. BIG mistake not turning him face the day after WM17 when they had the opportunity.

Some more thoughts regarding Triple H:

Chris Jericho has never defeated Triple H
Chris Benoit has never defeated Triple H (I think)
Steve Austin has never defeated Triple H
Triple H has never defeated the Undertaker
Kane has never defeated Triple H (I think; maybe when Triple H was a mdicarder, but not since he went main event)

So there are some interesting feuds they could get going here while Triple H is champ.

Six months from now, after one of the Big Three (HHH, Austin, Rock) turns heel, Austin or Rock will beat him. It's possible UT might sneak the belt out for a brief time, but it would simply be to try and put heat on the HHH reign, rather than any extended run.

Kane defeated Triple H for the Intercontinental Championship last year in a chain match. Judgement Day comes to mind. Something like the night before THE injury.

Why the triple h hate? He just obtained the title... We dont know what his promos are going to be like. We dont know what his wrestling will be like. His promos have been good in the past. I am interested in seeing where his direction goes.

Nobody's hating on him I don't think (well, except for the guy who started the thread). I'm looking forward to his run at the top too. I just am looking forward to some other wrestlers' runs at the top more =)

Didn't Jericho defeat Triple H for the title last April? He was stripped off it after, like, a whopping 5 minutes, but he did get the win.

And people wondered why I was almost tearing my hair out when Hunter came back and kept bringing up the point that Jericho never beat him. He did, you wank, and then you took the title back by whining. This coming from a person who, at one point, was putting money together to make a specialised Hunter stand-up. Bah.

No. Earl Hebner was forced into overturning the decision.

The thing that bugs me the most about HHH's new character is the lack of intensity. He seems like he's going through the motions, not caring.
It's like, he has no idea how to be a serious face; his only good guy experience is DX, and that wasn't that good.
I just got done watching his match with angle at RR2001, and, DAMN, he could work. But now, he's no cerebral assassin, just another boring power wrestler who gets his signature moves in with no rhyme or reason.
Which is pretty much the same reason for all the Undertaker bashing about this time last year.

Insert clever comment.

Heel HHH brought a high point of credibility to the WWF title with his intense focus on keeping it as part of his power trip. Face HHH really doesn't have focus right now. He seemed to just brush Jericho and Stephanie aside. His character needs some adversity and I don't think this injury angle is doing the job.

Triple H has never defeated the Undertaker
Kane has never defeated Triple H (I think; maybe when Triple H was a mdicarder, but not since he went main event)

Chris Benoit has beaten HHH. In a Smackdown match after No Mercy 2000, Benoit beat HHH in a crappy 4 minute match. He pinned him after the Radicalz put some beating on HHH.

Steve Austin has beaten HHH. Austin beat HHH in an IYH ppv match some time in late 1996.

OK FOR THE LAST TIME, HHH HAS DEFEATED THE UNDERTAKER! In the summer of 2000, HHH beat the Undertaker in an 8 minute match on Smackdown, it was the main event. It wasn't a clean win, but he did win.

I think someone already said how Kane defeated HHH at Judgement Day 2001.

Technically, Jericho has never beaten HHH b/c the decision was overturned. So Bucsfan, I think you only got one of those right. Try to check your facts next time before you state things as fact.

A new question.... is HHH going to actually stay a face for that long? I dont see that happening. I hope he kinda rides the fence... maybe that will give him some momentum back. But honestly i see him going heel before too much longer. But maybe that's just me. There are a lot of baby faces i know.. but if the rock doesn't turn soon i think HHH will turn. Unless they give him a DX style babyface. I dunno.

Vile One- I grant that you can pull up a main event from Smackdown or RAW and show those guys getting victories over Triple H. But that isn't the point. Triple H owned ALL of those guys whenever an extended feud came along.

Chris Jericho: Defeated clean in Last Man Standing match, 2000. Defeated clean at Wrestlemania 18, 2002.

Chris Benoit: Defeated in virtual title vs. title match when the Radicalz jumped. Became storyline bitch to DX along with the rest of the Radicalz in order to get WWF contracts.

Steve Austin: Defeated clean in 2 out of 3 falls match at No Way Out. Became Triple H's sidekick before Trip's quad injury.

Kane: Was DX's bitch thanks to Tori storyline. Did defeat Triple H in match but clearly due to Austin's errant interference.

The point is, who is the last person you can remember having a clean PPV win and/or program win over Triple H aside from the Undertaker? A gold star to whoever can answer that without checking the Slash archives... because I sure as hell can't answer it. The Rock, I would guess.

ANYways, given the perception that the fans have of Trip dominating those guys, it only makes sense that the one guy he couldn't dominate (or even defeat) would come back looking for a title shot now that Trip's got the belt back.

He always looks "GGRRRRRAARRGH ANGRY!"....unless "dick" jokes come up, then suddenly it's 1997 again and he's HBK's sidekick once more.
He sells fatigue, but never pain or injury. Not counting, of course, when the Billy Graham diet he's on causes his muscle to pull away from bone under any kind of duress. Like when he takes a whizz or drinks tea.

I'm pretty Triple H'd out, and he's only been back a short while. The only time I've really been into Triple H is when he was feuding with Foley, and a lot of that credit goes to Foley.
