This week on Game of Thrones, Kahl Drogo learns there are other positions besides doggy style. For Daenerys' own sake, I hope her sexy sex slave servant girl doesn't have her teach the Kahl the donkey punch.

I flipped flopped from what I said last week about waiting until season one was finished to read the book. I really wanted to learn the characters' names, and I was so enamored with the show, I couldn't wait a whole week to get my next Game of Thrones fix. I'm about 130 pages in, which left me off roughly 20 minutes into the events of episode two. Everything that happened after Robert's conversation with Ned where they discussed killing Daenerys and how much Robert hates Targaryens was new to me.

At this point, I hate the Lannisters a whole hell of a lot more than I dislike Viserys Targaryen. Tyrion is the only interesting or redeemable Lannister at this point in the series. Jaime is a scumbag and Cersei is quite an actress, marching into Bran's room and confessing the loss of her first born son to Catelyn as if she had nothing whatsoever to do with Bran falling from the tower. (That scene wasn't in the book. Nor was the scene between Ned and Catelyn in Bran's room. Also, Catelyn was much more cruel to Jon Snow in the book.)

I noticed the episode placed a lot of emphasis on hands. Catelyn's hands were slashed fighting off Bran's assassin and Daenerys' hands were focused on quite a bit being groomed by her servants.

Bran's dire wolf earned a lifetime of cookies for saving Bran from the assassin. What a good boy. That was a Holy Shit! moment, and then they delivered another Holy Shit! just like it when Arya's wolf almost tore that asshole little prince's hand off. So far, the dire wolves are the best characters in this whole story.

Reading this series has been on my list for a while. I know it's going to be a task. I'm not daunted, but I just find it amazing that with only ten hours of TV to cover a thounsand page book, they're adding scenes.

Poor Lady.

But it serves her pathetic master right for being gutless.

Is Tyrion the dwarf? If so, he's my favorite character on the show so far.

Poor Snow. Stepmom hates him, and he just started the dead end of dead end jobs. But he's got a badass WHITE direwolf.

Yes. Tyrion is the dwarf. Or The Imp. I'm halfway through the book and it's become clear Tyrion is the shiznit. By far, the best character in the story who isn't a direwolf.

Should probably be noted that George has officially finished the next book this week. It already had a publishing date, but it's had plenty of those before, so this time it's real. Can't wait.

I'm torn on reading the books. I'm sure they are great, but I don't want them to spoil the show. Maybe if the show becomes different enough a la Walking Dead or Dexter.

They seem to be only hitting the highlights and hitting them out of the park. The Needle scene is one of my favorites of the series. I love those direwolves. They are adding scenes, because book one is the most straightforward of all the books. Tyrion does have a shady moments, but all in all he is a pretty decent character. I am torn on Snow, I don't know if its basically I had a different image of him in my mind compared to how they are dressing him or the writing is thin on him, but I don't see the gravitas that he had in the books.

the jumps in time make things a little confusing.

Not only the worst episode of the season, but one of the worst episodes of Glee ever produced. Schuester continues to become one of the most poorly written television characters in recent memory.
