This marks:
-Nomar Garciaparra (15-Day DL) -Kenny Lofton (15-Day DL) -Eric Gagne (15-Day DL - Possibly 60-Day DL) -Olmedo Saenz (day-to-day) -Jeff Kent (day-to-day)
And this is only the FIRST WEEK OF THE SEASON! Gagne's a huge loss, but the overwhelming storyline is turning into Dodger injuries as a whole. Who pissed the Baseball Gods off this bad that the Dodgers are consistently becoming the walking infirmary?

Any fan who arrives after the first inning or leaves before the ninth. Fess up, Dodgers fans. Half of you pull that shit.
I've long said that it doesn't feel like spring until Nomar, Wood and Prior are all out of action.
It’s like Club Med, but everything is naked.

It really is bad when the divorce depositions hit the newspapers. If ever there was a victim of the SI Curse, it is the former shortstop of the Red Sox/current injured first baseman of the Dodgers, whose career has been in a virtual freefall since doing the shirtless, poster-child for steroid use, cover of SI prior to the 2001 season. | thecubsfan

To some extent, it is bad luck, but it's also a lot of rolling the dice with guys who've had injury histories and aging guys near the end of the careers. This many this is a real bad roll, but when you build the team with injury risks, it's going to hurt at some point.
