Okay, I'm pretty sure no one has mentioned this before...

According to Billy West himself, Futurama will be returning to tv with 26 new episodes (billywest.com). Apparently the original plan for the straight-to-DVD movies has been scrapped and the details for the series are being worked out. No word of which channel will get the episodes, but this is awesome news!

They really should just try a whole different approach and...I dunno...skip Fox entirely. Just place the new episodes on Adult Swim, which is where the majority of viewers go anyway. I don't want the series to land on Fox and get jerked around again.

It looks like Adult Swim has started a trend of resurrecting underrated and poorly utilized shows and taking them out of cancellation or obscurity. First Home Movies. Then Family Guy. Now Futurama.

To me, Futurama had a decent enough ending originally, so I don't think it really needs to be brought back. But if they can do some cool stuff with it, awesome. I love Bender, Fry, and Zoidberg.

But to me, the final episode felt like a good, formal ending to the series.

I'd initially agree that the series was wrapped up nicely. However, re-watch "The Why of Fry" and you might see how Futurama could feasibly continue.

This is about the fourth time Billy's done something like this. I mean, I like the guy, but I wish he could learn to separate "wild rumor" from "highly credible rumor that has a ghost of a chance of being true":

    Guys,
I'm sorry I gave inaccurate info on the cartoon.I was told on one end that the
TV show was a go but DXC enlightened me (with a hammer) that this was
not the case.I think there is a Futurama project as in DVD's but I appearently
had bad info. But I do live to give good Futurama news to people. So I must've
    died or something.

    All eyes on the skies,

    Billy

Funny concept of abducting a scared, non-English-speaking family and destroying their home only to rebuild it with no experience and no money. And fire. Only laugh-out-lound momoent for me was Frank being stabbed in the leg and then pulling a gun.
