I got home from work at 11:30, and seeing how RAW ends at 12 where I live I thought "Gee...maybe I'll watch RAW!". So, I turn RAW on...the commercials end, and the arena is empty. The first thought into my mind?

"Well, Vince must be happy now. They've officially turned into WCW."

Then I remembered it was the Best of 2002 show.

Knee-jerk reaction, I guess.

I had a different reaction. I tuned it a few minutes before the show like normal, because the theme song always kinda gets me in the mood for the show. I can't really explain it, but I'm just ready to see some chokeslams after hearing that thing. Anyways, I tune in, and the Smackdown theme started. My first thought was "Wow! They're actually doing something INTERESTING with the split!!!" Then I saw Jonathon Coachman and Terri and heard their forced "We have to share the show with *those* guys" and gave up all hope of the WWF themselves ever giving a shit about the split.

Coach and Terri talking as well as Colae and Tazz talking in the empty arenas reminded me of that empty arena match at Halftime Heat a few years back.

By the way, how blatantly bad was that blue-screen arena shot behind Cole/Tazz? I mean, why did they even bother to pretend that they were in an arena? Just tape the thing in some studio set or something.

I felt the same way. If they really felt the need to do a "Best of Show" then, since it was Monday, they should have just done a "Best of Raw 2002", no matter how scary that sounds. Then they could have just done the live SmackDown, or do a "Best of SmackDown 2002" on Thursday. But to do the split thing was just stupid. Not that we shouldn't be used to it by now, or anything.

I would've enjoyed a Worst of 2002 show. They could've opened with HHH raping a manequin, highlighted all of the Undertaker's matches, shown Stone Cold walking in slo-mo to the Bexar County Courthouse and finished up with a nice line graph of the ratings.

The following post expresses the opinions of a raving Jerichoholic. He is biased, opinionated and bitter. You have been warned.

Plus, on this Worst of 2002 show, we could have had the Undisputed Champion needing to cheat to win against somebody in his seventh match, the Undisputed Champion getting yelled at for picking up the wrong lotion, the Undisputed Champion walking a dog and the Undisputed Champion getting his ass handed to him by someone who had just come off of surgery and had had their knee (the same body part that was operated on) systematically destroyed by said Undsiputed Champion. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm thinking of Triple H's 2002 Highlight Reel.

Does WWE Films make any money for the company, or does it just drain focus and resources from the main product which could make them more money if they put all their energy into it?
