| #1 Posted on 27.4.09 0117.43 | Instant Rating: 7.03 | Another free fast food giveaway dealie: KFC is offering a free piece of grilled chicken to everyone who stops in today (Monday). This is part of launching their new non-fried chicken, which I'm pretty sure I recall them having tried at least once before. Still, happily there IS a KFC in my town, unlike with Denny's or Ben & Jerry's where I'd spend more getting there than I would just buying something comparable closer to home, so I guess I'll stop in and sample it.| Promote this thread! | | TheBucsFan

It's okay, I guess. Has kind of an odd aftertaste.
Now if Popeye's comes out with a grilled chicken using the seasoning they used to use on the naked chicken strips, I'm all over that.

So if you like grilled chicken, and you have both a KFC and EPL near you, you know what to do.

My problem is I'll never want KFC unless it's got extra crispy fried skin on it, so it doesn't matter HOW delicious that grilled stuff was; I'll never go to KFC for it. I mitigated these cravings by bringing along their Internet coupon for a $4.99 large popcorn chicken meal. I am now ready to EXPLODE with chicken!
(On the other hand, the buffet at my apparently recently renovated KFC NOW includes a tray full of livers AND a tray full of gizzards. I may have to go back to that buffet real soon now.)

They're pretty good but pricey. All over Kansas (started here I guess.). My wife and daughter love it. Actually my daughter prefers a local chain named Spangles that makes it when you order it with a 1950s theme.

It's got WAY more flavor than KFC. I don't know - maybe there are 12 herbs and spices in Gelson's fried chicken instead of The Colonel's measly, sissified it-goes-up-to-eleven.
No matter what, though - after an 8 piece fried chicken binge, I always end up feeling like Leroy The Hut.

Lucky. We get taunted with Sonic commercials here ALL THE TIME, even though there is not one close to me at all. I would love to try some of the concoctions they advertise.
You're not alone. It sucks that for all the stores and restaurants we have here, there is not a Sonic, Denny's, or Dairy Queen that I can get to without driving for over an hour and over state lines.
I had Sonic while on vacation in Delaware last year. The layout was interesting as you couldn't get inside the restaurant building at all; you could only eat in your car or on a bench outside. I wonder if that was the exception or if other Sonics were like that. Anyway, the food was pretty good, but nothing that much different from other fast food spots. The drinks, on the other hand, as Michael Cole would say: "Oh, my." Whenever I get the chance to go there again, I am definitely ordering another watermelon slushie/smoothie. Or the blue raspberry lemonade, that was incredible as well.

I've had it in Las Vegas and Orlando, and I seriously considered making the six hour-drive to Meridian, ID when it was the closest one to my home. It was total chaos there today - they have an unfinished parking lot that they roped off into a queue that was overflowing. There was probably 100 people in the parking lot doing the walk-up thing. AND it backed up traffic on (usually already crowded) Meridian in both directions.
