Anyone else watch this? One of the plotlines was the defense of a masked wrestler -- named Ultimo -- who was being forced to retire due to old age and give up his mask so the promotor could replace him with another Ultimo. In a pre-case hearing, the courts ruled that the promotors owned the name Ultimo, but the defense argued that his moves were Intellectual Property and thus protected by copyright law -- so the case was allowed to go forward.

Anyway, the lawyers reached an agreement that they'd have a match, and if Ultimo won, he'd keep his mask. So the story goes, Ultimo wins, but the promotors (a father-son team -- wonder why?) are going broke so they skip town with the purse and declare bankruptcy. Since they owe Ultimo and the lawyers money (not sure how that was worked out), the lawyers are now part-owner in a wrestling federation.

It'll be interesting to see if this is a continued plotline next summer (last night was the season finale). I'm not sure if "two legal buddies who don't play by the rules" can be expanded to "two legal buddies who don't play by the rules and own a lucha libre organization."

So, they portrayed wrestling as something that isn't scripted? WEAK.

I haven't seen the show but I'm going to go out of my way to see it. This seems like some weird Saved By The Bell episode but instead of winning The Max, Zack & co win a wrestling promotion.

That sounds like the worst Simpsons episode ever.

Who were the 'wrestlers'?

Forget it Josh... it's Cerebustown.

I think the woman was just there for some heavy Jim Brass backstory since that had a History in Jersey. I don't know why they wasted our time with that other LA guy but I missed Gil heavily.
