Any other cartoon characters running for Senate this year?

He's good enough, he's smart enough, and doggone it, people like him. Yay, Stuart Smalley for Senate.

If Minnesota can vote for the Body, they'll vote for Al Franken (Three-Fifths Of A) Decade. And with the Norm Coleman bandwagon losing people by the moment, Al has a better-than-decent chance of winning if he gets through the primary.

I don't know what is more disquieting -- the fact that the rest of the statue is missing, or that it has four toes.

Uh, not to imply that I know more about Minnesota politics than somebody in Canada, but you're really putting the cart before the horse there. LOTS of people could win against Norm Coleman if they get through the primary. Not to mention, that primary is over a year away.

I know people are expecting Al Franken: Comedian to run for the Senate, but don't look for that guy to show up. I remember reading the chapter about Paul Wellstone in "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them" and Franken has a lot of contempt for Norm Coleman stemming from Wellstone's funeral. Franken wants to see this guy go down bad and that'll mean putting Al Franken: Comedian in the closet for a while.

Good luck to him...assuming he makes it through the primaries, because he's got some stiff competition within his own party.

Looking at the message on his website (transcript at http://www.alfranken.com/page/content/message ), he sure sounds serious.

Now if only Lewis Black would run for something...

Wish I lived in Minnesota.

I get that. I was just saying that Stern is a pretty big voice. Anything he says reaches a lot of ears. May not be the best ears (depending on what you're talking about) but I think it makes it up in sheer numbers of listeners.
